It wasn't Luke's saber though, it was Anakin's. Blue blade and all.

IIRC that's what one guidebook or another called him. Sheev Palpatine.

Get it? Shiva the destroyer? He destroyed the Jedi? It's fucking funny mm8

It was both. Luke's first saber was Anakin's blue one, which Obi-Wan took at the end of Episode III and later gave to Luke; he lost it during the Cloud City duel but it was apparently recovered.

It was Tarkin, the first canon novel IIRC. It's by James Luceno, who AFAIK is just this amazing Star Wars lore buff.

All I'm saying is that Anakin had it first. I always considered the green one Luke made to be "his" and the blue one to be some family heirloom.

Speaking of that lightsaber, all I want is a blooper scene of the end where she holds it out and Luke replies "I already have one of those.".

I want a blooper scene where Luke accidently activates it as he's taking it and accidently cuts off Rey's hand.

Hmm.  The jedi are at their weakest during their little hermit-y exiles, cause they don't get ANYTHING done.  The sith, in the only sort of anonymous seclusion that we've seen, end up taking over the galaxy  :-\

I am really really okay with the idea of Luke and Rey being the new Sidious and Darth maul

I want to see Rey becoming a jedi who uses the dark side when needed.

That's like saying you want her to become a cop that smokes crack when she needs that extra rush to capture a suspect.

I'm hoping that, at the very least, she doesn't become a Jedi. Wouldn't that be something? Luke Skywalker is actually the last of the Jedi, just as Vader was likely last of the Sith, the force finally coming into balance because all those hokey religions were wiped out.

Maz Kanata provides a great avenue for that to happen, too.
