List of Notable Mods
« on: December 30, 2015, 11:49:07 am »

There's been a few times in the past when I would like to mention and recommend various mods that I enjoy playing, however, posting in that games thread only to what kind of amounts to an advertisement seems a bit rude so here this can be done with impunity.

Please list the mod along with the game (and specific version if necessary) as well as a link to where it can be downloaded and a brief synopsis of the mod.

I've got several that I'll start off with...

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

X3: Albion Prelude

You misspelled the title. It's notable, rather than notible. Anyway, I like the idea of this thread.

In addition to the above there is a long history of Roman mods that have succeeded eachother and are MP only, mostly event-based, and heavy on teamwork. Check out whichever one is the current one!

A few other's I haven't touched on. M&B: Warband's modding community it by far the best I've seen in any game in terms of quality and quantity of content. Not to mention inventiveness.

Spoiler: The Deluge (click to show/hide)
Other way round, WFaS was always its own thing with single-player, but the Mod Formerly Known As WFaS became Deluge as the former as an official add-on had priority naming privileges.

Oooooh. I see. I remember two distinct versions though, the current being somewhat of a revival?

I've lost so much faith in even popular mods (especially popular ones)

Maybe some of these will make me believe again.

vOv. Offhand stuff, Deluge went a loooooooong time without updating for various reasons, not the least important of which was the discontinuation of a script extender that used to be necessary to support it so it was depopulated for a jillion years until the new ones came out.

You might be thinking of something else, though.

That sounds about right actually. I included merely for historical purposes, it's another mod on the long list of those on the decline in the M&B community (last time I checked). The amount of teamwork found between players in the survival mode when it first came out though was incredibly fun. Pikewalls, firing lines, and organized skirmishing was pretty commonplace at a time. Most of that left for Mount&Musket, and eventually when it stopped being supported, Napoleonic Wars.
