I have used dfhack to give an adventurer slade mauls and 2 handed swords, they seem strong but are they comparable to things like steel, platinum, and candy? If your wondering, the adventure is able to wield them without any speed reduction.

It's still really heavy though.  I think it would decrease your movement speed, at least.  I don't know if DF penalizes your attack speed or attack proficiency for using ridiculously heavy weapons.
