8th Hematite, 251:

Quox is dead. And I know exactly who to blame.

See, we have a well. And around this well is a common area, which includes a drunken poetry area and a place for idiots to spar.

And those idiots spar RIGHT NEXT TO THE WELL PIT AND FALL IN AND BLOW APART.

I'm removing the stand RIGHT NOW, but two soldiers (and more importantly, their gear) are lost. And it's all Quox's fault, the idiot.

((OOC: Seriously, what the hell? Why'd you do that? You're such an idio

*jwoodward48df wrestles the keyboard away from an angry goblin*

It's a common mistake, but a rather deadly one. I'm just glad I caught it before more damage occurred. Do you two want to be regobbo'd?))

I can't get dfhack to spawn an enemy dwarf, either, so we'll be going in blind as far as butcherable sapients goes.  Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't: it should do according to everything I've read, but we'll have to wait and see.

I was experimenting with the mod, and my goblins refused to do anything with the corpse of a kobold thief I killed- no butchering, no impaling, nothing. Same with local wombat men. (Ignore me if you knew this already I don't remember it ever coming up)
Yeah, I was worried about that when I couldn't butcher that werebeast. I'd hoped it was just because it was a werebeast, and thus technically a friendly.

Something is wrong with the mod, but I have no idea what: I followed the instructions for making sapient's butcherable to the letter. Goblin ethics should allow it.

Later that day, I see a cave dragon! "Attack!" I scream, but the nearest soldier laughs and tells me he's Snodub's pet.

Haha, I deliberately made cave dragons ridiculously expensive to make them hard to get, so of course you get one as a pet in the third migrant wave.

((OOC: Seriously, what the hell? Why'd you do that?
It amused me. :D (I'm not sure why I didn't fix it, actually. I was aware it would be a problem eventually, but somehow I never really got around to moving the barracks even though we had plenty of other armour stands for them to train around. So I guess I deserved that)

Who was I sparring with when I died?

(Also, no sparring in 42.04. So technically it wasn't my fault at all.)

I'll take Snosdub the cave dragon owner. Rename him or her "Quasdub".

((OOC: There are many bugs/features regarding what would normally be considered improper treatment of human rights in the game, like eating sentients' flesh, butchering sentients, pitting sentients, putting sentients in cages/irons... Also, yep, that cave dragon should definitely help our little "fortress".)

20th Hematite, 251:

To distinguish herself from the two other Snodub's, the cave dragon owner has named herself Quasdub. I hope she does doesn't fall down the well like her idiotic namesake.

Sanctume is mining out the mineral deposits visible in the well shaft. Perhaps that well will bring prosperity as well as death. Soon, peasants will slave away, smelting in the pits to the west of the main settlement.

25th Hematite, 251:

I was brought a disturbing message today:

Code: [Select]
Shul-nak Gozrusotuk has been found dead, completely drained of blood!
We have a vampire in our midst! Code Red, high alert! Bring me all the new arrivals! I will... inspect them... hehehe... I have uses for this vampire...

Rhuul-tolaar! Blood-sucker!

There is a blood sucker in our camp!

This gud time to sleep together.

Hmm. Blood-suckers can be rich enough to buy expensive pets.

Can blood-suckers own pets?

((OOC: Good one, Sanctume, but it's not Quosdub. It would have been cool if he was. If anyone wants to be gobbo'd as the vampire, feel free: I'll even edit this post with your name.))

This is Ngzebo, a humble soap maker:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Rather old, but we goblins are immortal. But wow, he's been to a lot of places.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Hmm, his god has a habit of cursing people.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

And he's seen the drained gobbo die! What's more, no one's ever seen him eat, drink, or sleep.

We have a confirmed vampire!

18th Felsite, 251:

Rupdeus, the expedition boss, was found dead in the underground pool by a pair of fishers. I suspect someone shoved his body there after they cut him to bits, for he is indeed in bits. His head and arms and legs lay scattered around the pool. "'Tleast the fishies will like it," says one fisher.

Wow. Not a very good time to be a nicknamed goblin in Thunderdoom right now. Oddly enough, the one expected to spontaneously drop dead from infection is still standing.

"Quosdub"

I was going to correct you but actually that's a better name than "Quasdub". Go with that.

Could I get a look at Quosdub's thoughts so I know how to voice her? (also, does her cave dragon have a name?)

Speaking of correcting names, you misspelled "Quox" as "Quog" in the OP.

17th Galena, 251:

Finally, the miners, carpenters, and mechanics have finished the vampire's tomb cozy bedroom. The doors and levers are in place.

He walks in, and I lock the door behind him. He barely notices, as he goes back to the same thing he has been doing for the last month: praying to his god. It's rather sad, really, and I don't think he likes being a vampire. He constantly prays to his god of truth that he can reveal who he truly is, and end this constant "life" of undeath, but is never answered.

Bwahahahahahhaha! Just kidding, it's absolutely hilarious. I'll make sure he stays there forever.

Gentlemen, this looks outstanding.

Assuming the camp is still alive by the time it would get to me, I would love an opportunity to take a turn.

If it's not, I'd be more than happy to collaborate on modifying this for a future playthrough what includes dwarf-chewing.

Someone needs to show some balls and geld me already :p

Or at least cage me and station me by my wife. Bonus points if you set it up in front of an entrance, with a lever to release me for an epic battle.
