Hey everyone, this my first post on Bay12forums. I lurk here a lot for DF advice and finally decided to create an account.

Anyway, I was checking some of Primitive Technology's videos on Youtube (great watches, if you're into that), and I came across this:

It's a documentary about a tribe in Burkina Faso who recreate the primitive iron smelting techniques their ancestors used. It's a lot like dwarf fortress. They make the charcoal, then the kiln, mine magnetite and flux, and use hand bellows to smelt it. Then they forge it into hoes.

Hopefully someone find its as interesting as I did.

Huh, what a coincidence. The professor in my Archaeology class just showed a similar video a few days ago.
