Lol you people are the first people I have heard that listen to metal and use computers (usually its just people who listen to metal and stare blankly at the T.V.)

http://www.huutajat.org/ - A really good choir if you like metal

Songs I put on loop on my iPod when i play DF (mostly its on my PSP video selection):

Just a few songs...  ;D

Not because of the memory requirements, though they would be huge, but because technology wouldn't advance.
10000 years of the same swords and shields sort of tech is goofy.

You should come to my TAFE (like college, but even easier) class sometime. Basically, we have a cross-section of teenage society.

We have an emo; many, many metal freaks; a sprinkling of 'cultured' people; nerds; jocks; we even had a cheerleader-type, but she had too many other commitments and was rarely there.

Computers aren't limited to people like me anymore.  ;D

In my vicinity, most computer experts listen to Metal. But not the extreme kind, more Heavy, Power and Progressive stuff.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread, but I have to add a few songs that instantly reminded me of Dwarf Fortress. I am not surprised in the least that so many of you nerds listen to metal, because can be more metal than murderous dwarves?  ;D

Turisas - Cursed be iron
Bal Sagoth - A Tale from the Deep woods

And something from the completely stupid side of metal:
Nanowar - To kill the Dragon, you need a sword

Generally speaking viking metal probably fits the game best.

Hi!

Well, I personally like the original sound track very much, so I do not need any other music.

By the time I read that sentence I had already forgotten your user name, and I couldn't be bothered to look a few inches to the left to read it.  Imagine my relief when I saw that you very helpfully typed it out at the end of your post. Well played, Deathworks.  Well played.

I like James Brown because you can never have too much funk in your fortress.
