Clothes tattering speed

Is the clothes tattering speed hardcoded or maybe i'm mistaken and there's a parameter for this in raws?

I'm fairly certain that it's hardcoded, though DFHack may be able to do something with it.
You an also prevent it entirely by giving clothes an armor value.

Metal, bone and shell clothing seems to tatter as quickly as cloth, so it's not a material property.

It is a hardcoded item property. Be it silk or adamantine cloth, it takes the same time.

Leather clothes wear down, leather armor doesn't; same as with all materials.
