Only two character concepts so far. No votes for either. I guess I'll coin toss it if no votes come in. That seems the most fair.

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Spoiler: Personnel File (click to show/hide)

So. You're Sergeant Junior Grade Cakekowski. That's right. You're in the RCP Land Command Armour Division, where you've been attached to the 07th Attack Craft Team, in Bravo "Boom Boom" Company. You've been a competent soldier in your career thus far, keeping up with your peers at the regular promotion intervals. Now, as an SJG, you've been given your own tank crew. That's right. You're the commander of your crew, with a gunner/spotter and ammo-loader under your charge. You guys are close enough; got your own motley crew thing goin' on. Their names? Private Jenkins and Corporal Pork. Your gunner/spotter and ammo-loader, respectively.

Right now, you and the trio are in Frakenvurt, a small monarchy that has yet to join any faction. You're there to patrol and bring "safety and stability" to the region, but the brass wants you to match the growing significance of the Yolklan Union's armour division. Coalition Intelligence reports a respectable element of light armour. Luckily, the Union hasn't embraced the Rolling Thunder Doctrine like the Reds have, or you might be in trouble! Speaking of trouble...

"CONTAAAACT!"

The Union's light armour element has found you! One out of the five tanks in the patrol unit was taken out of action by anti-armour infantry! You're the Mission Leader, so the entire unit will follow your orders. What will you do?

> ___ ?

A. Scramble and engage where and when possible.
B. Head for the nearest urban area, wait for enemy infantry to nest up in structures, and hope you can kill several birds with one stone by crumbling the buildings.
C. (Insert custom suggestion here.)

((If we're the commander, don't we also need driver? What can you tell us about our tank?))

C: Orders to unit: "Bacon-Actual to all Bacons, keep moving until someone gets me a fix on those infantry, then once you spot 'em, open fire and suppress 'em! If you see armor, sing out and we'll take him down together. Keep BKs loaded for when the tanks show up."
Orders to tank: "Load BK (butter knife; armor piercing ammo for the tank cannon that can punch through Rolled Delicious Armor). Driver, accelerate."
Open our command hatch and try to get a fix on the infantry with our binoculars. If we have a dismounted infantry escort, yell at them to see if they saw where the AT hit us from.

Edit: Changed unit callsign.

It depends on the tank. I left one crewman out since I a) mainly see three and b) didn't want to overwhelm the players with characters to worry about. Three is nice, comfortable number. I thought we were going for a modern touch, so less crewmen are needed. But hey, I don't know everything, so sure. You have a driver. Sergeant Junior Grade Parham. An easy fix. Thanks for pointing that out!

As for your tank, it's the Warmaster MkII (should've added this earlier, but meh, was impatient). It's actually an impressive example of Coalition engineering. Red Army tanks are powerful and can take a beating, but were super slow. The Warmaster is a faster series of tanks that does not compromise much in the way of armour or firepower, which is what the Coalition is all about. It's top speed is 40 miles an hour fully loaded, and it can put down several rounds in a minute before the barrel has to cool. It's not super mega awesome, but it's a step in the right direction to claiming armour superiority in this war.

C: Orders to unit: "Pancake-Actual to all Pancakes, keep moving until someone gets me a fix on those infantry, then once you spot 'em, open fire and suppress 'em! If you see armor, sing out and we'll take him down together. Keep BKs loaded for when the tanks show up."

By the way, you're playing a tank commander in the Red Protein Coalition, not the Pancake-Waffle Alliance. You don't have to change your post though; I'll just apply your decisions to the right faction if it gets all the votes. Nothing a quote and edit in the next update can't fix! :)

Oh, and welcome aboard!

I wasn't sure how modern this was meant to be. If anyone, you can replace the loader with an autoloader.

That tank you linked looks like an MBT. It varies a little, but a modern MBT carries around 50 rounds, which isn't nearly enough to heat up the barrel even if it was firing as fast as possible. But I mean this is Breakfast War Three not real life, and you're the GM, so whatever you say goes.

Also, that tank looks like it has a passenger compartment. Do we have an infantry escort inside our tank?

Edit: I changed our platoon's callsign from "Pancake" to "Bacon".

Autoloaders are a thing? Hm. Well, today I learned! I had that idea about the overheating thing just for tension. It likely won't even come up except in super dramatic, prolonged battles. It's just one of those flavour things but I'll admit I wasn't thinking in terms of realism. But hey, Breakfast Wars is a growing and evolving verse. What's to say that in a future version I don't play with the world-building a little? In fact, I'm hoping to try other SGs set in the Breakverse!

Infantry compartment? That's actually a cross between an alternate/emergency exit (allows for faster embarking/disembarking of the tank), and is a mini storage area for extra supplies in case your tank malfunctions and friendlies can't get to you in a decent time frame. The same way pilots have to learn survival skills for the same reasons. Could you garrison infantry in it? A small squad, yes. Will they have the same level of comfort as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle? No. The BFV is made to transport men. The Warmaster is a tank first, and everything else second.

I've noticed the changes. Nice post overall. I like the detail. Thanks for teaching me some stuff about tanks, and I guess you can expect an update before bed, even if you get no votes, since you're the only one in it right now.

Fun Fact: I noticed you had a Gundam SG some years ago (grrr!). The Breakfast Wars is similar to the One Year War in concept. But in BW, there is no plot armour, no Gary Stus, and no clear good guy or bad guy (even though that can be argued when it comes to Gundam).
