2. Make sure to format your posts correctly.
     Primarily put normal description and action text in normal text.
     “Put all dialogue in your chosen text color”
     Put all actions that are to be processed by the GM in bold. This includes battle map actions, making purchases, using items, and moving yourself to some place requiring GM input.

3. Do not post in the thread until the GM has explicitly given you the go ahead.

4. Please make sure that your posts are coherent and well formatted. Nobody can interact with you if they can’t tell what you’re saying.

Battle Rules
1. Turn Order goes

~~Prologue: Embarking~~

In the world of Median, there are countless stories to be told. And in the nation of Napelli, merely one of many of these tales is beginning to unfold.

Carrying precious cargo, a group of travelers have journeyed to the city of Nimmet. Weary from their dangerous journey, and in fear of being pursued, they wish to send it on the next leg of its trek as soon as possible. Now having met with the man who is to bring the item they’ve brought to its next destination, an ally of theirs and a merchant by trade, a decision has been made to hire mercenaries in order to escort him on his journey.

A few days later, the hired help they sought out has assembled at their appointed meeting space, and now wait for their employers to arrive so they may begin their journey.

The date is April 21st, 751 of the Median Calendar…

~~~
The doors to the Orange Roof Inn swung open, letting in the cool night’s air into the firelit dining hall. A trio of men, their faces concealed behind hooded cloaks, strode into the building.
From the bar, the innkeeper gave the group a quick nod, and pointed his chin to the racks on the wall where they could hang up their cloaks if they so chose.
The three obliged the invitation, apparently finding it safe to show themselves here. The shrugged off their hoods, and hung the cloaks up as directed. They then began to scan their eyes around the tavern, clearly searching for something or someone.
It was obvious to anyone looking that the one in the front of the group was their leader, a dark haired man in extravagant armor. The design of the plate he wore stood out even more as it was clearly from the western continent of Dalphine in origin. To his left was a young scholarly looking man, whose eyes darted around wildly behind his spectacles at the Inn’s patrons, and would every once in a while would turn his head to glance behind him as if to make sure there was no one there. In stark contrast the man on the right seemed bizarrely relaxed, a friendly grin on his plain face.
The three of them remained like this for a while, before eventually the relaxed looking man broke off from the other two and inquired to the innkeeper who responded by pointing out a door in the back of the building.
He returned to his fellows with excitement, while they responded with a disapproving glare. One that was evidently ignored as he led them over to the door and swung it open.
Behind it was revealed a small meeting room, with a large round table in the center. Seated around the table was a group of eight mercenaries.
The three men shuffled into the room, and closed the door behind them. The leader looked expectantly at the mercenaries, while the glasses wearing one looked over them appraisingly.
There was an awkward silence.
Jezzail, Brecht Kerwar, Sparrow Brook, Gammel Velgsver, Shion Nemetion, Bastion Blast, Koto, and Helen Troy are in!
Jezzail, her booted feet resting on the table, made no effort to break the silence.
The man in front spoke up with a deep voice, ignoring Sprook's query.
"I presume that this lot would be the mercenaries you hired Aaron?" he said, turning to one of his fellows.
"Correct sir. These are the ones. It was not an easy task rounding up this many on such short notice, but I managed to find them at the last moment."
The armored one harrumphed, and scratched his chin, looking at each member of the party in turn before looking at the one who had broken  the silence, a slightly satisfied look on his face.
"I am Lord Elin Murquist of Gendral, one of your employers. Have any of you been briefed yet on your task?"
Koto nods at what Sprook said.
"A bit. But why don't you go over it for use."
Koto smiles at the man in front.
The old man pipes up, glaring sternly at his companions, his icy blue eyes looking the mercenaries over. Though he looks to be ancient and far too old for the battlefield--perhaps the sort who would never grow stronger, no matter how hard he trained--he speaks and acts with a vitality surpassing many men half his age.
"Fool young'ns! Didn't bother to study up on their own job."
The old man turns to his employers.
"We're escort'n someone 'cross Napelli, right?"
"Escorting someone. 'S all I know."
Her voice was surprisingly deep for a woman. She glanced at the others and frowned.
"Am I supposed to do this with children and old men?"
"Sprook" looks at Jezzali with a raised eyebrow and leans his head back.
"Just go with it."
Bastion's face lights up, and with a wide smile on his face, looks around.
"I'm loving this group already! Where are we going?"
