It's been one, two- or five days since you've been trapped in your office. Actually, you are not even sure about the passage of time in this phenomenon. What if time wasn't real? Or what if time was obliterated? Given that time period, people would have already panicked, and you actually did for what seemed like a day. Then you realized you weren't getting thirsty or hungry, and remained still when you discovered the door leading outside of your room wouldn't budge even a single inch.
The lights don't work; documents are strewn around the room due to massive quakes that occurred during the earliest hours of this most peculiar phenomenon, and the windows have been like that for many hours now. You're sure they lead outside, but they have remained fully lit when logically the outdoors should have darkened for at least 10 hours. They've also become foggy -- so foggy you can't even see a single inch outside, like a CFL tube that's fully lit.
You've been listless for a few days now. Your curiosity grows stronger each passing moment. A feeling of anxiety also permeates the environment around you. You are unsure what happens next.
The door taunts you each passing second you remain idle. But you've tried it and tried it earlier - you're certain it won't open again.
But, just a little time trying the door again won't hurt. The papers on the floor are unsightly, and considering this is an office space for an esteemed investigator such as yourself, you feel that you should set things back in order.
