Being a Newb at Adventure Mode
« on: March 18, 2016, 11:19:03 pm »

I see a fairly narrow river with two willow trees on each side, they would closely connect near the top so I had the chance to get across by climbing. I climb up branch by branch and there is a slight gap to the next tree...so I decided to take a leap of faith.... Didnt turn out so well. I failed the first time by trying to grab for branches while in flight. Hit the ground. I wasn't going to give up that easy, second shot? I climb one stage up being closer to the ground than before and take another leap of faith, this time I went to far over...and eventually fell in the river. The end.

Swimming skill is your friend.
Also try a sprint and a jump. That might get you across next time.

Always put at least two points in swimming so you become Adequate.

At least his moaning and chain rattling will be in key and hopefully entertaining.

Like the others have said, start off with adequate (or at least novice) in swimmer, and get it up a little in a village before you head off adventuring.

It would be totally beast to actually get climbing up high enough to be able to jump over a wider river, grabbing the branches above when you get like halfway across.

I love this community. Somebody asks "hay guise how do i tame shark", and then everybody is like "why don't we fling sharks at things with complex mechanical devices?".

Elephant man can swim across even the widest raging rivers with minimal swimming skill (takes a while though).
