The worst artifact ever
« on: April 04, 2008, 08:10:00 pm »

It's only worth 4800 and I got it out of a possession. Even worse, I can't make any ammo.

Does anyone have an artifact worse than this?

What the hell is a "Feather tree" and how did he attach it to a blowgun?

Yeah, I had an Alder blowgun that was about the same...  The Systemic Conjuring...  too bad it couldn't systemically conjure up some ammo for me to use!
...Note to self: Make a race that can make blowgun ammo, make a fort with them, make a ton of darts...  abandon, visit in adventure mode, get ammo... ???... Profit.

I had a granite-encrusted granite scepter once. Not even any images. I knew something was wrong when the dwarf in question started his work the instant he claimed the workshop (the granite having been left from the dwarf who had been making stonecrafts before he arrived).

At least I got a third legendary stonecrafter out of it. And drafted him.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's a kind of tree, probably fictional, and he decorated the blowgun with wood from one.

hmmm, 4800 seems to be the lower bound on artifacts.  I have three that are worth that much and none that are less (out of 20).

But all it says on that screen is Decorated with feather tree..  He decorated it with the tree itself, not the wood...  He attached a tree to the blowgun?  No wonder they can't use it!

I'm pretty sure that the lowest value artifact is 2400.

Also, a feather tree is just a normal tree, but its wood is very light.

Heph: language?

jaybud4: "decorated with feather tree", like "decorated with larch" or "decorated with pine". The problem here being that the adjective includes "tree", which looks strange.

Feather trees are the 'good' aligned tree, they only grow in good areas. Glumprong are the 'evil' trees.

AFAIK they were both created by Toady.

Booya, 3600.

Well, this next one is technically worth more, but as far as odd artifacts go...

A horse leather flute which appears ripe, apparently. Go ahead, wrap your lips around it and give it a toot! Careful of the spikes though.

I had a ruby bucket encrusted with rubies with an image in rubies on it.  196,000.

Feather trees are so named because they've got the lightest wood in the game.  Ah, nothin' like having a wooden bin that weighs three weight units...  They make for good shields, too.

Does encrusted/circles/spikes make the item heavier?

I had a Rhyolite bed that was worth 480.

Of course, it's a stone frikkin' bed, so maybe that means it's far more useful.
