My Internet will most likely be down later, so if that is the case the turn will be delayed.

One part I would change is that Dodge would fall under a Dodging bonus and not Defense, since Defense covers tanking and shrugging off hits rather than avoiding them. Otherwise it is good.

So there's a dodge roll, and *then* an attack v. defense roll?

So there's a dodge roll, and *then* an attack v. defense roll?

Defense/Dodge are the part of the same roll, so it's "Attack vs. Defense/Dodge", some characters prefer one over the other, both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Defense is nullified by piercing attacks.
Dodge is nullified by immobility.

Ah. So can I turn the bonus on the armor into a dodge bonus too then?

And is the difference mostly in what nulls them?

Ah. So can I turn the bonus on the armor into a dodge bonus too then?

And is the difference mostly in what nulls them?

Yes and Yes. I should clarify this right now.

There are two forms of Defensive Rolls, Defense and Dodging, which both function similarly for roll values
.
Defense/Dodge are the part of the same roll, so it's "Attack vs. Defense/Dodge", some characters prefer one over the other, both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Defense is nullified by piercing attacks.
Dodge is nullified by immobility.

Attacks have multiple major categories. First of all there is Melee and Ranged. They both have their advantages and disadvantages as well, the main one being that melee can not always counterattack long ranged ranged attacks, while ranged weapons can sometimes jam or misfire.

Then there is the difference between Magical and Physical attacks. Whether something counts as Magical or Physical can sometimes not be obvious and if you want clarification you can either state what you think an attack would be or ask me for my own opinion: for example, even though a spell that create a flying boulder has a magical origin, I would count it as a physical attack.

Chapter 2: First Dinosaur Casualty
Location: Grand Fairbank Mall, Toronto, Canada
"The revenue from this fight better be worth having to buy an entire mall." - Anonymous ArenaCorps. Representative

Robin earned the first kill in the fight by instantly vaporzing the first incarnation of the Evul Mage, but that still left him with one problem in the form of a Pillarman. "Time to skip the scales!" Robin waves his arm as a portal appears in the ground in front of him. A voluptuous schoolgirl spawns from its depth, jumping next to Robin as the portal closes back up. "Oh, did you call for me?"
Robin briefly wonders if she have specified what sort of Waifus he wanted to get or maybe provided some sort of system for spawning random Waifus, but it was too late now, no time for ability adjustments when Kars was running towards Johnny, deadly blades of light coating his arms! [8 vs. 7+2] Robin draws the Levin Sword, crackling with electrical energy around its blade, and swings it at Kars as he passes by. Kars rotates his torso and twists his head and the sword doesn't even nick his neck. "Too slow!" [10+2 vs. 1] With two light blades taking the form of curved sabers on each of his arms, Kars coordinates a double attack on Robin's lower torso that would have cut it in half, and Robin is only saved by his Armored Robes, reducing his condition from 'Really Fucking Dead' to 'You're Still Probably Going to be Dead Soon'. The blades, after going through the armor, tear into Robin and leave him with a massive perfectly horizontal cut across his belly, blood and viscera pouring forth from the wound and multiple organs ranging from non-vital to vital and even a couple semi-vital ones decorate the ground; half of Robin's stomach sags onto the ground making a putrid wet sound. [(DC X>7 to Survive)Constitution Roll: 3] Robin coughs up some blood and falls to his knees, at least he can open the Tome of Desperation before he expires. Except just as he is reaching for his last-ditch weapon, Kars slashes downwards at Robin's skull and separates his head into two halves down to his neck. He falls onto the ground where his literal split brain leaks grey matter, prompting a frank "Oh shit," from Tsubasa before she dissolves into a purple mist.
Kars has cleaved Robin! [+1 Kill]
+Ability: Sentient Weaponry: Light Blades become sentient.

Kyoko dismisses Sans' weak attempt at punnery and opens up her Box of Pocky, taking a single chocolate coated stick out and chomping down on it. She takes the downstairs escalator after Sans and walks directly into a firefight where a group of Stormtroopers are emptying their blasters into Paper Mario and Sans, every single one of their shots missing and creating an atmosphere of errant laser beam flying everywhere, putting holes into every surface and obliterating innocent toys. Once she's at the bottom of the escalator, Kyoko takes on a wide battle stance and holds her spear pointing straight in front of her, because she obviously is going to be attacked by the Stormtroopers. There's no way they couldn't. When would a squad of the Imperial Army refuse to attack Kyoko? The Kyoko Sakura?

Kars hoists Robin's body up by the robes and holds it above his head, the tactician's two deadly wounds coating the Pillarman in blood. Then there is a flash of light as what is left of Robin's body shrivels up into nothingness, absorbed into Kars' essence, he then throws Robin's now empty robes to the side. Kars didn't even need to absorb Robin at this point since he had taken no damage, but the young military leader was a tasty treat, he had a special tanginess to him. Now that the distraction was out of the way, he could reengage Johnny with a ferocious pose, "Then show me your fists! I will break them with my 「Light Mode」! JOJOOOOOO!!!" Kars slashes his arms in the air so quickly that all that is visible is a motion blur, creating invisible, supersonic waves of energy. [8+2 vs. 8+2] Jokotaru stands firm, allowing the slashes of light to hit him as his crown protects his body with a bright golden aura, the Shining Sabers dissipating on contact with him, except for one which somehow manages to pierce this defense as it goes low, slashing the top of Johnny's foot.
Unsatisfied with this minor wound, Kars does not stop attacking with the Shining Sabers, staring Johnny straight in the eye as his arms seem to move independently, continuing the non-stop barrage of energy waves. [5+2 vs. 3+2] At this point, the defensive power of Reminder of the Dog Days appears to be waning, as Johnny's glow grows dimmer and one of the Shining Sabers is able to slash him diagonally from just below the left nipple down to his naval, the wound is long but not that deep.

Rez jumps about excitedly at the sight of his own blood like a cattle rancher that had just stumbled upon oil. "BLOOD!" Rez's clothes are now somewhat soaked in his own lifeforce, which sends him into a literally bloodthirsty rage; Rez charges McKatana with one less arm than he started this battle with. [4+1 vs. 8+2+1] Despite focusing on the fight between Mecha-Hitler and Crusty Pete at the moment, the perceptive and battle-hardened Katana McKatana sees Rez running at him from his peripheral vision. When Rez gets close enough to go for a thrust, McKatana pivots and effortlessly parries the blow, [2+2+2 vs. 3] and counters with a quick slash that catches Rez in the underside of his right forearm, slicing through flesh and muscle but this time the blade does not pass the forearm bone and leaves Rez with one arm remaining, albeit weaker.
The disadvantage of wielding a knife with an injured arm is offset by Rez's blood rage which is only fueled more by his newest wound. [5-1+2 vs. 8+2+1] Before he can even try and thrust at McKatana for a second time, the Samurai swiftly kicks him in the chest and sends the blood knight off balance and onto the floor, right on his back. [3+2+2 vs. 10] McKatana draws his blade upwards and prepares to swing it down upon his foe when Rez's quick thinking lead him to grabbing his left arm with his right hand and pressurizing it, causing it to squirt blood into McKatana's eyes. The Samurai sputters and wipes his face off with his robes, allowing Rez time to get to his feet and flee.

Johnny Jokotaru tries to get between Robin and Kars, but when the tactician rushes forward to attack the Pillarman, it is too late. "NOOOO!" The only exchange, Robin's missed swings, and Kars swift and deadly retaliate and subsequent absorption, takes only seconds. With a grief stricken scream, Johnny summons up Dog Days, the brown catgirl materializes next to him in a pose for battle. "I knew Robin for 5, 5 entire minutes and you take him away from me! All of this memories of us talking about clothing and history, and you steal him away, my greatest friend! You will pay for this bastard!" Johnny cocks his fists back as energy begins to precipitate around him, and then launches a ceaseless series of mighty punches on Kars, "Toriya Toriya Toriya!!!" [4+2 vs. 10+2-2] In the course of a few seconds, Johnny throws dozens of lightning fast punches, and Kars weaves and ducks under all of them, only the most precise camera would be able to slow down the fight to normal speed, where Johnny looked like an amateur boxer trying to tag Muhammad Ali. [10+2-2 vs. 9+3] When Johnny's punches start to slow down due to energy expenditure, Kars attempts to decapitate him with a Light Blade infused punch, but Johnny shoves him away before the Pillarman can come forward.
[5+2 vs. 1+2-2] Dog Days leaps over Johnny and attacks with her own flurry of punches that are superior in speed to even Johnny, and this time Kars is not able to outmaneuver the catgirl, and thus receives every one of her punches to the torso and head. Her final hit is a strong jab to the mid-section which lands with the force of a train, the cracking of Kars' entire ribcage sounds like a whip hitting a steel pole. Kars goes flying backwards and smashes into the changing room, causing the entire structure to collapse on him.

Crusty Pete is nursing his elbow as Mecha-Hitler gets into a S.S. patented fighting stance. Suddenly, Pete's eyes glow red, white and blue. "FECKIN' NAZIS! I'MMA RIP YOU TA' PIECES, JUST LIKE I DID BACK IN DE DAY! MURICA'" As the sound of a bald eagle crying overhead sounds through the home improvement store, Crusty Pete's beard rises upwards and sharpens into streams of sharp, blade-like swirling hairs that jut and lash out in every direction; Hitler's eyes widen in Germanic surprise. [7 vs. 10] As the knife hairs jut out, the surprised Hitler reacts before they can strike him and he grabs them in his right metal hand gripping the beard as the hairs ineffectually try to pierce his sturdy metal hands while he pulls Pete towards him. [4 vs. 9] Pete stands firm and instead of being pulled forward, he twists his head away and allows for part of his beard to ripped away in Hitler's hands, freeing himself. The patch of beard in Hitler's hand quivers and dies, the Nazi leader discards it like a piece of trash, while Crusty Pete's beard instantly grows back to its full length.
As Crusty Pete's sentient beard hisses at Hitler, its host grabs his Whoopin' Stick, and placing it in his right hand, runs up to Hitler and swings the simple weapon. [10 vs. 6] The stick comes down upon Hitler's metal skull which cracks slightly under the force, but Hitler himself is unphased due to his Steel Resolve. He then goes on a 10 minute rant about superior German robotic engineering.

The Stormtroopers fire heavily, if ineffectively, at Paper Mario, Sans and Kyoko, forcing them to respectively hunker inside a life-sized dollhouse nearby, build up a wall of bones, and finally seeing this as confirmation of her beliefs of being attacked by imperial forces, resulting in Kyoko charging head first into their ranks. As the magical girl ovveruns the Stormtroopers positions, they turn to focus their fire on her. [8 vs. 9+1]  Kyoko puts on an impressive display of agility in getting around the blaster fire, jumping several feet into the air, almost the ceiling and performing wall-to-wall jumps, while moving with the swiftness of a cocaine-snorting leopard. [7 vs. 2] As she closes into their first line, Kyoko swings her modular spear and its massive head smashes into an entire firing team, sending them flying through the aisles with enough force to knock several of them down; if the impact the spear didn't kill them, then flying into metal walls at 50+ MPH would.  A few of the Stormtroopers preparing thermal detonators are interrupted by Kyoko turning the corner and finding them. All of them flee, except one who reaches for his blaster, but Kyoko instead skewers him through his torso with her spear and hoists him into the air like a rat on a spike. With the last reserves of his strength, the brave soldier reaches for his thermal detonator and sets it off in his hand. [4 vs. 8] The Stormtrooper explodes fantastically, bits of his armor flying around the area while Kyoko herself brushes the explosion off like it was a gust of wind. In about a minute, Kyoko was able to reduce the remaining number of Stormtroopers to less than half of what they had started with, that feat aided by Paper Mario getting a couple of early Stormtrooper casualties.

Paper Mario, in the midst of everything, remembers that it would be impossible for his paper-based jaw to break. So instead of breaking, it tears like a sheet of ripped paper, hanging off of his head on a hinge. The paper man transforms back into Tube Form and rolls under the ubiquotous blaster shots and stays out of Kyoko's way when she attacks the storm troopers. He rolls right up to Sans, who has taken cover by a wall of bones that is hit by the occasional stray laser. Mario rolls up to Sans with an opportunity to strike, but the skeleton advises against that, shaking his head as two Gaster Blasters appear hovering besides Sans' head at both sides. "* heh. you can't jump away from me everytime, kiddo. but, i gotta admit, it's a good strategy" Paper Mario takes flight over flight and rolls in the opposite direction as fast as he can. [9 vs. 1+2-2-1] [3 vs. 8] The eyes of both g. blasters fill with a total whiteness and each of their mouths opens, sending forth a pure white beam of energy at Paper Mario. One of them misses completely and decapitates a giant animatronic T-Rex, its head crashing into the middle of a corridor. The other laser lands directly on Paper Mario. When the Gaster Blasters disappear as fast they are made, they leave a legacy of one murdered dinosaur and a pile of ash that has a distinct smell like burnt paper.
The Fire Flower turns from a bright red to a sickly white, and then wilts. The fires left behind by it trigger the sprinklers, and everyone in Toyland gets soaked.
Sans vaporized Paper Mario! [+1 Kill]
+Ability: Hole Creation: Sans can create a Hole that creates a portal between where he is standing and any other point in the mall. During the next turn, he and any other character can travel through this portal, which closes immediately at the end of that turn. 3-Turn Cooldown.

Once McKatana clears Rez's blood out of his eyes, he spots Mecha-Hitler going on another stream-of-consciousness tirade. How dare the Nazi insult his ancestral weapon of great power, and assert that Japanese technology is somehow inferior! "GAAAAH! FILTHY GAIJIN ENGINEERING CANNOT STAND UP TO GORILLION-FOLD STEEL! DO NOT ACT AS THOUGH YOU HAVE THE EDGE IN THIS FIGHT!" He charges Hitler with his Katana above his head once more, [9+2 vs. 10] and slashes downwards, targeting Hitler's damaged skull, and cutting into his actually circuitry! Hitler cries out in robotic pain and pushes the Katana out of his head, his Steel Resolve now broken! McKatana takes the opportunity of breaking through Hitler's defenses to slash again, [6+2 vs. 8] but Mecha-Hitler blocks the slash, deflecting it off of his reinforced forearms.

Cthulu Dundee and his camera crew sneak towards the sound of battle, hiding behind clothing racks as if they were foliage. He turns to the camera when he spots Kars, "Nao, we aveto be vaary careful, this fella is a feisty one." The crew sneaks forward a little bit and suddenly Dundee's eyes open wide when he sees the ongoing battle. "Crikey! We gaot ouselves a fyte 'tween a stand-usa' and their natural predatah, a Pillamahn. The Pillamahn are generally strongah, but dun' count the stand mahn out jeust yet, they er' a hardy bunch!" When Johnny, or more accurately, his stand is able to send Kars flying into the clothing rooms, Dundee faces the camera to explain just how Stand Users work. [Explanation: 9] "Stand-usas' are strong but themselves, but when they summon they stand, it's a whole notha story! If yah focus on jus the usa, youah' bound to have an awful time mate. If yah wanna take em down, its bess to use moves that can hit both usa and stand for extra damage! Watch dis."
[1-2 vs. 6+2] Dundee bursts through a rack of coats and launches himself at Johnny, who simply steps out of the way and allows Dundee to fling himself into a perfume display shelf. [2 vs. 7] Dundee crashes into the perfume and breaks several bottles, leaving him covered in cuts and soaked in perfume fluid, but a tough bush man like Dundee is not effected in the least by cuts of mere glass. "Crikey, I smell like ah gorgeous cheakapee!"

The Road Warrior believes this to be a glorious, wonderful day, signaling the beginning of his fight by shooting his flare gun into the air, and he swears he hears the cries of fallen brothers, new and old, yelling to him among the wind. He rides with his Brother, who cruises alongside him, one hand on the clutch and the other holding a Sawed-Off. The two ride towards the entrance of Toyworld, ready to burst in and convert more Brothers to their cause when TRW feels something very off, like the balance in the universal motorcycle lifeforce was going awry. Looking behind him, he spots a snazzy looking skeleton driving an antique Bentley; the Skeleton waves. The Road Warrior, though no one could see it, lowers his eyes, if anyone was going to rule the road, it was not going to be a pompous bone-boy driving in an antique. Rather than burst into ToyWorld, the Bikers turn and circle around towards Skullduggery Pleasant, and just as they pass The Road Warrior aims his pimped out Mini-Uzi, christened Brother Koch, and fires it into the Bentley's driver seat. [2+2+1 vs. 8] [3+2+1 vs. 4] Koch's first spray just puts some extra holes in hood of the car but the second attack breaks through the front windows and a single bullet hits Skullduggery in the left shoulder, chipping some of the bone. The Bikers pass by and Skullduggery, now in full battle mode, turns his car around and drives after them from behind. Tailing The Road Warrior, Skullduggery puts one hand on the wheel and takes his revolver in his other hand, holding it outside of the window. [7 vs. 5+2+2]  The single shot revolver fails to even hit TRW's bike as the skilled driver spins and takes sharp turns, the skeleton unable to keep track of his position.
The Brother in Arms looks over his shoulder and aims his shotgun at the Bentley, firing a burst of buckshot. [6-2 vs. 3] The shot hits the Bentley's rear left tire, making it harder for Skullduggery to drive.

Skullduggery curses and jerks the car as he suddenly loses a bit of control with one of his tires gone. He still continues to pursue the bikers, right on their tails, and once again tires to land a hit with his 6-shooter. [4 vs. 3+2+2+1] The Road Warrior has the audacity to look directly behind himself to stare at Skullduggery in the eye and not pay any attention to the road, despite the fear that a normal motorcylcist would have about plowing into a random light pole, but Skullduggery swerves around them without even looking, and shows no fear as Pleasant fires more shots at him. The Road Warrior shakes his head and spins his bike around, jerking it up into a wheelie and heading straight for Skullduggery with Brother Koch out. [7+2+1 vs. 5] The Uzi spits lead but not directly at Skullduggery, instead it's into the engine of the Bentley. Slightly perplexed, Skullduggery takes the moment to put his revolver back in his pocket and conjures up a fireball in his hand, flinging it at TRW before he gets out of range. [2 vs. 1+1+2] TRW ducks as the fireball sails over him and catches a patch of ground on fire, the Brother in Arms swerves around the flames. [10+2+1 vs. 8] TRW shoots another quick burst over his shoulder at the Bentley as they pass by, breaking the rear windows now as well and sending a single bullet through Skullduggery's scalp, the force of the bullet sending the skeleton's face into his steering wheel and stunning him. Additionally, due to TRW shooting up the Bentley's engine before, the engine ceases to function and is now on fire.

Mecha-Hitler tries to fight off Crusty Pete by hitting him with a JoJo-esque series of punches. [10 vs. 2-2] And Jojo-esque they are; Hitler closes in on Pete in a boxing stance and begins to pummel his torso with a lightning-fast series of punches straight into his large stomach, smashing through ribs and injuring internal organs one after the other. This causes Crusty Pete to double over giving Hitler the perfect opportunity to land a ferocious uppercut into his jaw, so powerful that Pete goes into the air and performs a backflip before coming crashing back down to the ground. [Constitution: 10] Crusty mumbles something flat on his stomach, he's in no good condition but somehow he survived the beating.
Crusty Pete out of the way, Hitler turns to McKatana and turns his gatling guns on The Samurai, firing a barrage of eldritich-infused bullets. [8 vs. 5+2+1] McKatana, among the greatest swordsmen to ever lived, is able to use his sword to deflect every single bullet! When Hitler finishes firing about a hundred rounds at the Samurai, he has does not have a single scratch on him.

A dark portal opens and the Evul Mage is back! He looks around to find his previous opponents to finish off who had been fighting with! Except they're not there, and he's not in the same place. Looks like we have some Stormtroopers, a Skeleton behind a bone wall, and a girl with a giant spear standing around in this World of Toys, wet due to sprinklers.

A Peacekeeper climbs out of one of the vents in Toyworld.

The Huntress step's out of the Lady's Room in C.J. Nickels.

Important Straw Poll regarding Acquired Abilities and Respawns: http://www.strawpoll.me/10470971

First option should say: Respawn with no acquired abilities besides your initial 5.
Acquired Abilities refers to Abilities beyond your starting 5 that are gained via Kills or Quests, ex. Sans' Hole Creation Ability.

Dundee rolls across the ground, Leaping up and attempting to grapple both him and his stand with an armbar around their respective necks, doubling the force of said armbar.
