A: There are 5 Factions after America was nuked to the ground.
Mongers - War mongerers who attack and loot anything they want they are scattered throughout the USA
Volkaves - Valt dwellers that joined up together to form the mighty "empire" in the eastern USA
Burgs and Fries - A group in the western USA that are taking over any remains of old restaurants and using them for who knows what
Radiated - Mutated humans that move in horde like ways throughout the central USA
Taklar Federation/Union - The federation is in the west and the union is in the east, they are both remnants of the USA government.

The Dead - Anyone that Resisted Becoming one of the Previous two Groups, This was Mostly Pacifists and Politicians But quickly Grew to Many types of people.

I mean this is a cool idea, but if we want anything to come of it, it has to be more organized. Some of these posts are contradictory to each other.
Humans? Not that we know of, but there are a few faint distress signals reporting horribly deformed creatures, on loop from sources in within Siberia.

Radiated - Mutated humans that move in horde like ways throughout the central USA
One says small number of human mutants in siberia, and nowhere else. The other one says massive hordes of 'em roaming the great plains. Sorry for the interruption, just wanted to point something out.

Didn't we get the pilot? Can't we scan his brain?
If we did, +1, but I think they either got scrambled by the tractor beam or got blown out into space.
This is a normal discussion, folks.

Why don't we hold a Vote whenever two or more Posts contradict one another to determine which is Canon to the Setting? Whichever Option receives 8 or more Votes, it becomes Canon. Personally, I prefer the small number of Siberian Mutants in Russia, as Swarms of Barbaric Mutant Hordes are fairly unoriginal, and fill a niche that could be more diversely occupied. Such as, Communist Survivalists, and a Biker Cult, for example. If two or more Posts don't necessarily contradict one another, we should Merge them, if they could both coexist without contradicting one another. For Example, earlier in the Thread Post said that Europe was filled with Conflicting Duchies, and Another Post said that a Fascist State had conquered most of Southern Europe, I think that both Posts would be more interesting for the Canon, if both Posts were Canon.

Just because it says "RADIATED" doesn't mean they can't just infected by some form of Radioactive Viral Weapon.

Q: What is the Political Situation of Africa?

Quick Question, Why are The Enslaved called The Enslaved? Who exactly is Enslaving them?

(A) Africa is largely overrun with Genetically Optimal Creatures, and because of the massive dangers they pose, the Interior of Africa has mostly degenerated into somewhat Primitive Nomadic Tribes attempting to coexist with the Genetically Optimal Creatures. A handful of petty Nation-States exist along Coastal and Resource-Rich Areas, but they are few and far between. Some Agrarian Village Communities have managed to survive in the more Fertile Areas. The Most Powerful Faction is The South African Republic, after the War, they managed to hold onto Societal Order, and have spread across much of the Southern Coast. Their Technology is far behind The Tech East and is mostly jury-rigged and scavenged, but they make up for it with Tamed Optimized-Animals, plentiful resources, and a fairly large, if somewhat disorganized, populace. In recent Years, a Madagascar-Based Theocratic Empire has begun feuding with The South African Republic, the Madagascans have a Superior Navy, and due to Religious Fanaticism, a more motivated Populace, but The South African Republic is currently repelling their Advances due to their Superior Numbers and Tech. Many Bandit Gangs and Warlords Plague the Continent, and are a Thorn in The Republic's Side. If they united, they could conquer the Continent with ease, but fortunately, are to busy squabbling among themselves to do so.

(Q) What happened to the Old Religions when the End came, and what, if any, New Doomsday Cults Religions have come up?

A: Islam is pretty much unchanged and is widely accepted throughout much of Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and, coexisting with Neo-Shinto, southern Asia. Christianity all but disappeared from what remains of America and Russia, it steadily grew weaker and weaker as time wore on. It's on the brink of collapse and archaism. Judaism has spread and become the main religion of the African continent as well as the Australians. The Tech East has revived and put an apocalyptic spin on the old world Shinto ways. In the Fascist Party controlling much of Europe, is a new religion based upon biomechanical augmentations to achieve spiritual enlightenment. Or just to dominate the enemies of the state.

Q: How do people provide for their needs? Like food, clean water, medicine, etc.?

A: Hydroponics and dome raised animals along with advanced water and air filtration technology were included in most vaults although the exact tech depends on the original nation.  Those who survive in the more damaged areas all have some access to these technologies (otherwise they would have died out), many who live in less damaged areas have a combination of older farming techniques combined with some salvaged tech.  Jury rigged covered and near underground farms are common in the more damaged areas, reverse engineered from the original technology in the vaults.

"Natural" animals are significantly better as livestock both for safety and growth, although because most that survived were from the vaults most are actually genetically modified to some extent.  Everywhere, including in Africa, "natural" animals are incredibly valuable both for farming and being simply rare.

Medical technology was the first to be lost by most leaving the vaults and supplies have long since dried up.  Some areas have modern medical technology, even far beyond what we have today, although the level varies wildly, and most places make due with folk remedies and basic first aid.  Even basic antibiotics, medical gauze and surgical tools are rare.  In most areas a "red" in the local language is the person or a group with the best medical knowledge, sometimes a real doctor, sometimes just some guy who knows how to dress wounds, and everything in between.

Most other consumer goods are either rare scavenged tech or made in small scale home-craft.  Industrialized production is almost unheard even among the advanced nations due to a breakdown in trade and currency.  Despite this markets do exist where many modern goods can be found, they are just inconsistent and often quite expensive.

Mostly, the weather is fine, but the survivors of the apocalypse occasionally have to contend with huge, terrifying versions of the kinds of 'extreme' weather we have today. Massive lightning storms that leave forests burning down, great tornadoes of terrifying force that tear through at a minutes notice are not unheard of. Acid rain is also encountered periodically, though it is mostly wild and people just hitch up the packs and hope it doesn't dissolve the fabric too much. Lengthy droughts and huge rainstorms have made some societies very much nomads.

A: In Russia other then massive food Shortages things go about as well as before the War for the average person; The TECH east is Very Crowded do to lack of required Resorces to build new structures but still contains most pre-war Culture, they are also the only Nation that still airs TV content[Anime, the Weather, live events]; in Africa each day is a struggle to survive, and Between the Optimised creatures and your fellow human you must either be in a tribe or VERY LUCKY not to die; Europe's conditions have to the north returned to the Mid-Evil ages, in the south long hours of work and the chance to find a real doctor are what your average person has; in America you are for the most part Either in one of the Vaults being told what to do up to the day you die, or outside the Vaults and liveing a [mostly] free life where you often have to scavenge as work or for food, In Canada you generaly either Live under the well armed Elite, or Die by any number of things [Bigfoots, Frostbite, Starvation, Shot to death, Eaten by a fellow Survivor etc.].

A: Depends on type. The simple ammo, using blackpowder, is widely produced. More specialized ammo is rare, however in the Soviet regions, much ammo was stockpiled, along with a very refined version of the AK-47.

A: Coal was mainly mined in the USA before the war. during the war multiple nukes landed on America's best mines, this started a fire that has still not ended to this day.
Oil drilling was made illigal in most countrys long before the war but didn't stop the middle east, During the war their Oil remained mostly untouched though the whole area was left quite... Burning.
Gas ran out long before the war.
