A: It is basically a half nuked out, half frozen wasteland. The East is spattered with bombed out hellholes and large areas of arable and habitable land. To the west, it's probably fine.

Q: What technology remains?

A. Basically nothing. Renaissance level if you're lucky. Even the Tech East is mostly smoke and mirrors when it comes to technology; they put much more effort into pretending they're advanced than they do being actually advanced.
Q. Why has technological development crawled to a standstill?

Q. Why has technological development crawled to a standstill?

A: Transportation and trade have dropped off dramatically.  Except for limited military situations, Optimized-animals, small boats and walking are the primary way of traveling.  This means that materials and knowledge transfer are limited.  Most tech is extremely local, based on what has survived or been scavenged and there are often social and religious pressure to stay away from ruins and not dig into the past.  Many places do rely on some old or rebuilt technology but it is often built and maintained by small groups or individuals who guard their knowledge.

Q: What kinds of optimized animals can be found outside of Africa?

In Soviet Russia, Apocalypse survives You!

Q: Why is Russia's amounts of vodka so high?

A: The Russians before entering the war knew that if all their Vodka supplies were destroyed then their moral would plummet and so kept them safe in Siberia.

Q: Is there still anything of worth?

A: Because It is one of the Few things the Tech East has in Bulk and Still produces, Besides which Most TV shows outside of the Tech East to Survive were either Boring Soap Operas or Dull Children's Television.

A: The Islamic Space Station has err... landed.. on the moon.
Meanwhile, the International Space Station only contains cats and an AI. The human shipment never arrived.

Q: Why are cats on the ISS?

Wow this Thread exploded, but, given the nature of this Forum, I can't say I'm surprised.

(A) In most places, Technology has degraded significantly. Working Military Vehicles are excessively rare, and most Factories have stopped working. Medieval Weapons and Armor seem to be making a comeback on the Battlefield, but Primitive Blackpowder Firearms are fairly common. Pre-War Armaments are very valuable and are highly sought after, most Advanced Technology is in the Hands of Government Entities, the Very Rich, and the Powerful. Makeshift Gear is extremely common, and in some places the Technological Level of Advancement is blurred.

(Q) Are there any Genetically Optimized Humans? If so, how common are they, and what is their place in society?
