Extra "thief" type

So, there are night trolls, "They are supernatural monsters which kidnap non-goblin civilized beings, transform them into spouses, and then mate with them to produce young", why not add them as a thief type that appears in fort mode. They could single out an adult target, wait for them to go out into the open, preferably alone, then engage in non-lethal combat, in an attempt to knock them unconscious, then put them into a bag or something and carry the dwarf off the map, maybe even non-fort traders could become targets, such as traders or performers.

Edit: it'd probably be a good idea to make night trolls try to target people without high combat skills
Edit: night trolls would prefer to target people that have non-threatening descriptions and aren't wielding a weapon or wearing armor

Maybe a better idea would be to make night trolls try to target people whose description is most non-threatening? Like, people that look frail, short, non-muscular or something like that.

At what point would they flee?

At what point would they flee?
after they've kidnapped their target, or after theirs no hope of capturing the target, such as if their discovered early before their ambush starts and the target is somewhere where he couldn't ever hope to get to, such as if he would have to battle your military or something

Specially if the creature after realize it has no chance of capturing his prey, he/she its going to run to his cave and wait for the next season/month/etc for attacking again, maybe he came from far away, or his cave its right after that hill.

Attack if the target is alone.
It doesn't have to be just a some kind of monster creature, they could/should be anyone: dwarf, human, troll, orc, whatever
In the future you could send a group of soldiers to find the kidnapped ppl. Retrieve him or them;
Was he/she searching for a partner? the rescue party take too long and now they have family ?
Does he kill and eat them ? Did some rare ritual and now there is a demon there ?
     Sell them as slaves

I'd say make them like kobolds, ecept with an additional 'engage and kidnap' behaviour. So it wanders around your fort, invisible, flees if spotted, but if it can isolate a lone dorf it will pounce on them.

I'd suggest a special behaviour though, where its 'pounce' immediately renders them unconscious for transport - while attacks to the head could knock them out, with the way the combat system works right now i think there'd be a much higher likelyhood of it just caving in their skull.

Why would night trolls only attack weak non-combat types? Love doesn't discriminate based on how practical it is to get! :P

In real world myths, night creatures and similar kidnappers tend to go after high profile targets, whether that be an individual of extraordinary wealth/material possessions, social standing, beauty, talent/personality trait, or some combination thereof.

Hmm, you could get trolls seeking the hand of your famous craftsdwarves.

They should look for strong and/or skilled dwarves. Unless it's a very nerdy night creature, they ought to want a "good" mate and not settle for just anyone.
Although avoiding armed opposition is sensible.

which begs the question: what is the ideal mate for a night creature like? Beauty isn't an attribute so perhaps they have a preference for strong and durable mates?

Sounds pretty awesome
In my mind there are already dwarven children telling their fathers that the night troll isn't under their bed, so we need this to happen
