Can dwarves ever have enough drinks? Probably not. And the extra variety of drinks made from surface plants will always be welcome.

- Briefly considered, but I shall first finish a year in Deathgame. After that, I'll take a look around.
- I already assume you do, but nevertheless warn to look out for blocking squares. Rooms with doors to the West and East in particular can mess Bowyers/Butchers and Jewelers, respectively. North and South - most of them, that is - I'd call safe, but I do not know the workplace arrangement of the tech labs.
- Any potential landscaping projects of yours?
- Spawnbro is bro.
-Oh, I'm interested in research, but at times considered to ethical and unwilling to sacrifice. "The mountainhomes have more dwarves to send," they say.

The stockpiles are quite horizontal, but I suppose it is difficult to conquer reanimating cavern that will soon be on fire.

Still, takes time to transport from them to caravans.

I hope there will be a mechanism for dumping the deceased into magma, eventually. Not that anyone should use such thing.

Awesome migrants. And not-migrants, I hope you've been robbing them naked?

People who pray to Zeus hope not for lightning strikes.

The seeds stockpile looks as if magma from distance. So many doors, will trees rise against us?

....

Now, looking at screenshots, it seems Magma tech lab is safe, following same pattern as Carpentry.

It is quite interesting accomplisment, nevertheless. I've never quite seen anything like that.

Love that the farm ceiling is bloody already.

This is an important matter that I shouldn't decide alone. Any suggestion ?

None.

Looking at a hundred worth of dwarves profile was exhausting. I have made my decision, see you next update !

Ouch. This is where I'd love Dwarf Therapist, would check all dwarves for mugs or find one that has no preferences in half a minute.

YEAR 320 - Overseer report of Nakéen Stakeswallows

AUTUMN
  • Entry 29 - Year 320 Limestone 1st -
.
.
.
It has been half a year. Busy as I was, time flew by and the leaves have already turned golden.
.
And I feel so lonely...
.
Spoiler: Nakéen's Mental State (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: It's Autumn Outside (click to show/hide)
.
To motivate myself, I browsed over our growing stock of alcohol. The fruit of our aboveground farm, soon to diversify even more.
.

.
While I was still under the blues, I received a sudden message from Gwolfski the bookeeper.
.

.
I rushed to the console and saw the dreaded flashing letters on the screen. Rovod Postbanks, a Marksdwarf, was burning alive !
.

.
Spoiler: Rovod's Thoughts (click to show/hide)
.
The offending magma crabs were taken care off, but Rovod didn't escape alive from it. His body was seen burning until only ashes were left...
.
What a great way to start Autumn.
.
Spoiler: !!Rovod's Corpse!! (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Smoke (click to show/hide)
.

  • Entry 30 - Year 320 Limestone 8th -
.
One week later, Rovod's death was officially announced. The procedure you know, that is to wait one week if the body disappeared.
.

.

  • Entry 31 - Year 320 Limestone 10th -
.
An unusual guest was announced today. A Spawn, like the bard that killed the mother and her baby during Spring...
.

.
Still, I was unsure. Maybe this one could be like Spawnbro ? After all the last one was a bard, not a soldier.
I will still keep an eye on it.
.

  • Entry 32 - Year 320 Limestone 13th -
.
The outpost liaison and with it, the caravan crossed our borders today. A great new ! They will see all the great improvements I made to Braveworks, and I will make sure everything is reported to the higher-ups.
.
I had the Trade Depot levers opened as such.
.

.

  • Entry 33 - Year 320 Limestone 16th -
.
The Spawn showed its true colors, attacking a wandering Furnace Operator.
It only cements the fact that Spawnbro may be an unique case amongst them all, maybe he should be studied by our scientists.
.

.
At first the Spawn was pummeling the Furnace Operator, named Nish. Until she bursted into rage and a Tresher, Stukos, rushed in to help her punch some Spawn.
.
.
.
Together they punched it so much the body wasn't recognizable anymore.
.

  • Entry 34 - Year 320 Limestone 17th -
.
The next morning, the liaison met with our mayor, Kib.
.

.
I assisted to the meeting, and this is without surprise that Braveworks was designated to become a barony. All our efforts weren't for naught, now I am sure of it.
.

.
Kib left the choice of the Baron to me, wishing to avoid these matters. I took a moment to think about the issue, and eventually made my choice. A well thought choice.
.

.
I designated Ushrir Gatefangs. Both the mayor and liaison turned toward me with a "Who ?"
She is a nobody. Someone forgettable.
But she is married and already has two children, which means if she were to die, the title would survive through them.
And finally, her tastes are simple. She doesn't need anything crazy or extravagant like platinum-shelled wood socks or the like, and as such, she won't bother the whole fort with useless mandates.
.
So to resume, she is simply someone down to earth.
.
Spoiler: Ushrir Gatefangs (click to show/hide)
.
Afterward the mayor and the liaison exchanged words of trivialities, and I only intervened to define trade agreements.
I asked for metals and vegetables, they asked for mugs.
.
I guess The Master is going to be happy now that we have an official reason to pump out mugs daily.
.

.
The liaison then left, in the typical way they are taught to left.
.

.

  • Entry 35 - Year 320 Limestone 18th -
.
Merchants finally arrived, Splint rushed eagerly, not after taking something to drink.
And to my surprise, they had...nothing ???
.

.
I was on the brink of kicking them out of Braveworks.
.

  • Entry 36 - Year 320 Limestone 22nd -
.
Another Spawn in disguise was spotted outside. I didn't left any chance to this one.
.

.
As this foul creature laid dying, I supervised my next project :
.
A Library.
.

.

  • Entry 37 - Year 320 Sandstone 3rd -
.
At the start of the month, The Master gave birth to another child. Say hello Asmel !
.

.
Also, with the recent domestic animals birth, I gave our butchers some work.
.
Spoiler: To the Butchery! (click to show/hide)
.
Then I commissioned some Silver Bookcases for our future library. Autumn and Winter are going to get busy !
.
Spoiler: Work Orders (click to show/hide)
.

  • Entry 38 - Year 320 Sandstone 6th -
.
The merchants left 3 days ago, empty handed as they came. And as they left, migrants arrived.

.

  • Entry 39 - Year 320 Sandstone 11th -
.
A special report. Our surveillance network sighted something huge looming in the sealed caverns.
.
All underground workers should take extra care not to wander in the caverns for now...
.

.

  • Entry 40 - Year 320 Sandstone 13th -
.
Braveworks is now officially a Barony ! I'm ready to bet we will become a County next year already, after all I added to the infrastructures !
.

.

  • Entry 41 - Year 320 Sandstone 16th -
.
A peculiar glint sparked in Rita's eyes. Dropping a bin on someone's foot, she commandeered a workshop and worked secretly on something for days.
.

.
Eventually after more than a week's worth of work, she finished her mysterious ordeal.
.
Spoiler: Satisfied Rita (click to show/hide)
.
Mergedent the Visionary of Dominion, an ashen amulet depicting two legendary books of our time.
The ominous Reflection On Ruins, and the Quadratic Equation, filled with knowledge.
.
I understood the message pretty well Rita, thanks for the support.
Our library will be a great pool of knowledge.
.
I also understood the hidden meaning of the name.
Braveworks will indeed rule over the world if we play our cards right...
.
.

  • Entry 42 - Year 320 Sandstone 28th -
.
It seems Flame, the next would-be Overseer is developing strange and unhealthy attachment to something made of wood...
He should get himself checked, as soon as possible.
.

.
.

  • Entry 43 - Year 320 Timber Overall -
.
Timber was pretty uneventful. Apart from keeping close watch of the mysterious being in the caverns, codenamed X A N, I ordered a network of cells to be built.
Yes, I intend to furnish a jail in the future.
.
Spoiler: Future Jail (click to show/hide)
.
I choose a cozy little room for my own little space. Sorry Splint dear, but I need my own personal place sometime.
.

.
To finish Autumn, I looked at the list of our plant-based food. Our farms are doing great !
.

.
.
.

Autumn report done ! Now only Winter left to write, phew.

I'm a bit tired these days, so I may not find the strength to write a decent report for winter fast enough.

Here is the save.

And here are comparisons of the fort at the end and start of my term.

Edit: For some reason, Spawnbro's room is the uncarved one. No idea why it is so.
Furthermore it is the main "defiant" one. The direction doesn't match the rest.

Loneliness? Oh no! What are Nakéen's relationships?

....Could use more drink.

Bye bye, Rovod. You burned so that forgers wouldn't have do.

Uh, is the trade depot inaccessible by default? That can't be good.

Spawnbro is bro and needs a better room. But degenerate spawn doesn't look that dangerous, mostly bruises. That's weaker than I've come to expect from modded in deadly races.

The triangular banner...Sounds like human name, though with all these civs can't tell.

Nice library. Got to say, I usually don't use silver.

Hello Xan :P

Nice amulet, could one assign it to head of military or something?

You did lot of reworking. But ugh, the storage is not pretty.
