What Weapon Do You Usually Use?

What weapon do you usually use in adventure mode? I usually use a battle axe or great axe

I tested 2 groups of humans multiple times in the Object Testing Arena.
1 team brandished short swords, the other with battle axes; weapons manufacturable by dwarves.

The battle outcomes I got were 50-50.

However, swords have the advantage of being more than twice lighter than axes, allowing you to carry more of other useful stuff. So, then, that's what I chose.

One of the dwarfs walked in front of Thor to get a better view of the prye, and Thor kicked him irritably into the middle of the flames, which made Thor feel slightly better and made all the dwarfs feel much worse.

If my dwarf gens with a steel battle axe I stick to that. Material type trumping all else. Otherwise I'd look for a great axe.

Can't really beat (for edge weapon) the great axe's combined specs of 6000 contact area, 8000 penetration depth, along with that 10-13r weight. This is highest weight of all weapons and this does influence damage. All useful specs when trying to bring down an inorganic in 1-3 shots aimed at its vitals or a control center.

I like using two-handed swords and variations of them like my drolth (one-edged great Viking-esque machete with stabbing function added) or macuahuitl from ZM5's modpack.
In the other hand I usually have a whip to quickly lash at running enemies to break their backs or bones on large demons/giants. Whip is also the only more compact weapons to help simulate in my mind my adventurer using two hands to wield the main weapon and when using whip he/she quickly grabs it from hip or upper leg straps and lashes.

Halberds and glaives are my other favorite (can imagine the whip attached to somewhere on the handle).

My left hand and my right hand. If I feel like someone has too many limbs I bring out a sword.

Swords or Axes. If I can't chop off limbs with it I don't want it. If I'm feeling lucky I dual wield the two. If I feel super lucky I use Kisat Dur. If I'm drunk I use barbaric slap ropes a scourge or whip.
