Finish my flight to the colony, check if the other messenger arrived yet, deliver the Baron's message, and all probably done in a tablecloth again unless someone has some clothes I can borrow.
You arrive, change, and attempt to get covered, but some gnomes see you and crowd around, gawking. Makes it difficult to get anywhere or get anything done, as they tend to either forget what you wanted, or lose track of their answers, until you manage to get that tablecloth again. You learn from the Gnoll manning the outpost that the other courier has already arrived, early this afternoon. Turns out, he walked. Suddenly, several bits of info come together for you: The baron's own horse was not exactly high quality - just a regular riding horse. No one was dressed particularly fancy, and there were only two horses in the Baron's convoy, besides those belonging to the other nobles. Everything, form the clothes, to the food, to the tents, were rather utilitarian and simple, if well made and relatively new. maybe we've been overestimating the Baron's wealth and holdings a bit. Well, no matter.

You are provided some almost fitting clothes, and led into the building near the factory. Someone fetches the courier, and he examines the seal carefully before opening the scroll and readig the contents. "Oh." He says, and waits with you, to return to the leaders. You are summoned into the council room, where several wizened, mostly small, heads swivel to look at you and the other courier silently for a moment. From the sounds a bit ago, and from the expressions on their faces, some arguing has just gone down. A Hunchbacked goblin reaches for the scroll with a mechanical arm full of tubes, glass bulbs, and leather straps. It whirs and clicks as he moves. Breaking the seal, he reds the contents out loud for the council, then turns to the other courier, who affirms that this missive overrides the previous one. You are led out to wait, and given a room for the night, after which you are summoned back to receive their answer, which is that they agree to the baron's terms, presenting you with the documents requested, and presenting the other courier with some more formal documents and a package.

Dar'yajira will first locate Alaran, to ensure he hasn't moved on.  Dar won't announce his return or anything though, as hopefully nobody even knows he left.  After Alaran is located, Dar'll wander around a bit burning time, maybe hunt some of those smallfasts he saw when last at the colony.
You find Alaran and greet him. "Ah Dar, looks like we can prepare to leave soon. The Mechanists have gotten together to figure out how to fix their mess, and it looks like the Baron will be getting in on the solution as well. Dessmo tells me he thinks our job here is essentially done. Unfortunately, we won't have time just now to pursue your hunt for your master. the other parts of our mission are going to have to wait, as we are being recalled to Omega fora time. Who knows though, we may be back before long - those ruined places, and that Hive still need investigated, after all."

noir shifts and gently opens her mouth
"....Can you take me to there the place with the....where I could learn more about my powers?"
Say the above
We'll be heading back to Port Heron soon. You'll have a day or so once we arrive to do your soul searching. But we are summoned back to Omega. We can't loaf about here much longer.

Snap off the arm! Then jam it into more joints
the arm is wedged pretty good, and you fail to break it. that fire is hot, yo.

I will just stand back and watch it burn.
"Hey, Jack and (unimportant nameless) soldiers. Let's just stand back an' watch it burn."
probably for the best. That fire doesn't look friendly.

Twiddle my... well, twiddle something. Maybe have a chat with the Pendant of Tales. Let the grunts do the grunt work.
the Pendant of Tales says, in a solemn and regal tone: "Ableah Ableah Ablblblblblblblblblblblblblbll Ableableableablblblblblblblblblblblb."

Well, this round, the fire seems content to damage therobot for you. Something inside snaps, and you hear the sound of a spring uncoiling.

Back away from the robot and let it burn/explode, drag any soldiers near by with me. Can't have the fresh blood getting hurt

Welp, I have one more flight to complete before I regroup with everyone for our return trip. back to the baron with the message for him. I'll just fly to him while staying in crow form, the papers attached to my collar. I'll land next to him and let him take them, then fly off to return to the group. If he takes the entire collar I'll have to shift back long enough to tell him that I need the collar back, but otherwise I might as well just keep this quick and simple, since we're basically done here and we're in a hurry.

The cat responds to Alaran, though with a mildly reproachful tone of voice "...This one understands.  It is happy to leave this terrible place."

Welp, guess we're leaving, then.  If Dar's map can lead him back easily enough, he won't wait for Alaran--he doesn't want the mechanist's company anyway.

I stand far enough and I let it burn, burn, burn the tank of fire...
I'm wondering though is a cursed one a known phenomenon or is it only known to certain specialists, what do people think about cursed ones?

Not so much in a hurry, as suffering a little GM fatigue. this mission has been a little more scattered even than I expected, and running what amounted to four games while I started that new job kinda took a toll. But, yeah, you drop the message off, to a few raised eyebrows, and fly back to the war camp, where everyone is to regroup. Right now, it's you, Dessmo, and Noir there.

The cat responds to Alaran, though with a mildly reproachful tone of voice "...This one understands.  It is happy to leave this terrible place."

The map doesn't really show the war camp on it, so no. Sadly, he must return with the mechanist in tow. Well, at least he can ride on a cart for part of the way - Dar's feet are pretty tired after those long walks he's been taking. Anyway, you arrive at the war camp all nice and cozy, sleeping in a little two wheel cart pulled by a donkey.

Good idea. The machine does explode. Looks like you didn't move back quite fast enough, as you are pierced through the gut by something hot and sharp. It hurts. A lot. But then a presence slithers into your mind and turns your curse against the pain, washing away the fire and leaving embers. It's still enough to tell you that your guts are in a bad way, but not so much that you can't act almost normally.

In certain areas, Cursed ones are well known, due to having experienced a famous one or two in their time, and having other lesser known examples around as well. But Cursed Ones tend to be unique or unusual in their individual curses, so the specific form is not known generally by sight. However, both curses and undead are well known - zombies, skeletons, wights, vampires, the usual suspects are common enough that people are generally aware of the nature of most types. I know, Samuel is not 'undead' technically, but he is in the same category - in that space between life and death. As for their outlook - well, it's generally negative, as undead tend to be either a source of perpetual rot and decay in one form or another, or are outright hostile and dangerous to normal life. Thus, for example, Druids tend to view undead as abberations, and will seek to restore a natural state to one, usually by encouraging them to accept their death, even if it means violence. However, in more cosmopolitan areas, especially if the Cursed One is in the company of civilized beings, they can be accepted and even welcome.

"Step back guys, thing may decide to give us a good spook."
this turns out to be the right idea, As the machine explodes soon after you step back. looks like your speed bonus just saved your life, as you get far enough away not to be consumed by the fireball, though the explosion does throw you across the clearing, slamming you hard into a tree, breaking bones and sending you into unconsciousness. A sharp jab into your mind from a tentacled brain wakes you and keeps you from sliding into a coma. Not gonna be walking on that leg anytime soon though.

So for the soldiers, three of them die in the fireball, and two more are close enough to be seriously wounded.

"UHHHHMM-HUMMM, YES, GO ON..."

More waiting.
looks like you get to be useful after all. I'll start with you trying to dull Jack's and Samuel's pain. Well, unconsciousness makes him blissfully unaware, but also risks him dyingto his wounds, so you meddle with Jack's mind and wake him up. As for Samuel, you get into his brain and sort of "go with the flow." You tap into his liquid Curse and manage to wash away enough of the pain that he can act without trouble. he's still got a chunk of metal in his gut though -can't pull that out with sensory manipulation. Oh, and htere's some weird feeedback, from interacting with the curse, but you areprepared for it and resist any ill effects.

Noir quietly lays back and waits for the others.
PM me and we'll walk through your visit to the temple at Port Heron. that way, I'm not tying up the thread with roleplay for one character, and you don't have to wait for the others. I'm sorry, I should have offered this earlier.

Dar will search around a bit, trying to find Aylia or Noir.  If either can be found resting or otherwise not busy, he'll go and sleep on/near them.  In the more likely case that they're busy, he'll just watchfully stay nearby and rest.  If neither can be found, he'll return to the cart and sleep inside.

Maintain pain numbing spells. Order the surviving soldiers to see to the injured, beginning with Spaz.

((I'd help, but I have -2 med.))
