I've been SWAMPED lately, but I'm still working on tilesets.
Here we have 2 old fonts from back in the day, converted for use in DF.

Wiggly

Both of them are 16x32. If you need smaller sizes they'll downscale to 8x16 with no issues.
I've grown to love the amber coloring, because it reminds me of old smokey monitors.
My totally objective and unquestionable opinion is that HandUgly is perfect for Halloween dorfing.

Thanks for the screenshots. I love the ZXS but the color scheme is pretty bad tbh.
I only included the colors for the sake of authenticity.

I don't think the contrast between colors is any better though...
Honestly, if you tweak the original ZXS palette enough it looks identical to the default colors for DF anyway.

When I saw the ZX Spectrum palette on Wikipedia, I thought it looked just the same as the Dwarf Fortress default color palette.

Yeah, it's actually 2 sets of 8 colors. One bright and one "ever-so-slightly-darker". Each 8x8 block contained either 2 bright colors OR 2 darker colors, which further reduced visibility and made things look terrible IMHO. A lot of devs just used black for the 2nd color, because black is black regardless of how dark it is. That's why nowadays we think of the ZX Spectrum look as 1 of 8 bright colors on black.

[edit] It's actually a really fascinating computer though. Don't let me turn you off of it. For every restriction there was somebody savvy enough to break it and do something cool with the hardware.
