Civ Populations on worldgen
« on: August 22, 2016, 03:09:25 pm »

Is there a way to modify so that Dwarves and Elf civs have priority (or more likely to have high pop) on world gen? They always seem to be at the bottom of the barrel or extinct where as orcs, goblins, humans and succubus dominate.

you could always take off all the factions so you just have elves and dwarves. or remove a couple factions in order to make "room"

This thread might help you out, might want to tweak the results a bit so you don't end up with merciless elven warlords. (Unless that's what you're going for.)

Go to the raws and click on the entity files for the species that are the most plentiful. Then scroll down to [MAX_STARTING_CIV_NUMBER:100] or just ctrl+f for it. Reduce it to whatever number you feel appropriate, and do this to everything that isn't elves or dwarves.

If you use standard generation, you can always generate larger worlds with shorter history. Dwarves are guaranteed to at least appear (unless you made then non playable in fort mode) but they need mountains to live in and over time other civs colonize larger areas and outnumber them.

With some raw editing, you can make dwarves and elves super strong, though and agile. They'll win a lot of wars, then you can restore to their original values inside your save.
