((You realise you'll have to drag a furious gnome to his house in order to get paid, right? And he's almost certainly going to try to trick you out of it.))
((I think it still works in D&D that things get done when you have a gun pointed at you :P

But that's why I'm only watching right now))

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.
Just make sure he wears a boot.

Kal

Aldern waves his hand with airy disregard "Not a problem, my fine man. I will arrange horses for everyone in your band of adventurers. I'm sure Sandpoint even has a shire horse large enough to carry your construct."

Aloisturm and Steven

((No roll needed, he never even saw it coming))

Bastargre dangles in Aloisturm's grip, and slowly goes white as the construct's actions and words sink in. "Wha... you shouldn't be able to do this. a construct HAS to have a master...." he whimpers, dangling in the construct's fist above the half-filled water barrel.

((Second time you've called Steven Kal :P

Also,
((Can I check if Kal knows anything about the area Aldern has indicated?))

Aloisturm dunks the gnome in the water barrel. Not holding him under or anything, just a quick dip.

"Perhaps your auditory sensors have been cleaned out now. Listen closesly: Aloisturm. Has. No Master."

Kal

Kal doens't know those woods much at all. They're called the Tickwood, he recalls, mostly for the giant ticks that can be found there. However they're more known for their fine hunting and lack of other threats. The Mosswood further to the east is notorious for its goblins, for example.

Aloisturm and Steven

The soggy gnome splutters as he emerges from the water and stares at the construct holding him with fear in his eyes. He yells out to Steven and the small crowd of townspeople who have formed to watch the spectacle. "Help! Help! The construct has gone berserk! Someone save me!"

Steven sighs as he takes a drag of his cigarette before approaching.

"Alright, Rusty. Put him down. And not in the barrel."

Aloisturm complies, though it dearly wants to shove the gnome into the trash barrel as well.

"Relax. You woke me from stasis, so you are safe from permanent damage. For now."

Aloisturm and Steven

The moment the construct releases the gnome on the ground, he gasps out a complex word and takes off, moving far faster then his stubby little legs would indicate. He disappears around the corner at the end of the street.

((Bastargre currently has a movement speed of 50'/round))

((How I picture him))

Steven shakes his head and takes a moment to hope he never has to see the gnome again.

"By the way, where is everyone else?"

((Do you plan to chase after the gnome? Otherwise I'll move forward to the evening

Oh, and I’m going to assume Aloisturm tells Steven what the meeting was about so he doesn’t skip town))

Steven breathes a sigh of relief, knowing that the guards weren't after him for other reasons. He tries to hide it, but his hands shake reaching for his flask and takes the last of it.

Steven then heads to the smithy to work on his new pistol

((I'm not going after him, Watching him get dunked was reward enough :P

Aloisturm watches Former-Master Meatbag take off, feeling a great deal of satisfaction at how it had handled the situation. Probability tables indicated that the gnome was unlikely to cause further trouble.

To pass the time before the meeting, the construct continues its work after telling Steven what it knows.

Aloisturm and Steven

Returning to the smithy, the pair get back to work on their respective projects, making good progress before the evening comes. Das Korvut grumps a bit to himself that the smithy is starting to get too crowded, but works around his unexpectedly crowded forge.

The party

Come evening, townsfolk begin drifting into the Rusty Dragon. Aldern bids farewell to Kal and goes to make arrangements for the hunt the following day. Meanwhile, Steven and Aloisturm make their way from the smithy, and Zeratuu promptly leads Master Etoile before he could get lost in a book or let his shyness get the better of him.

By the time the five are settled around Kal's table, Shalelu appears in the doorway, looking tired and irritated. Her expression lightens when she sees them and she comes over to claim the last open chair.

"Well now, I was looking forward to this all day. All sort of dreary meetings to slog through, it makes me long for the open skies and the forest paths again!" As dinner begins to be served, she looks around at the band of adventurers. "Well, I've heard all about your adventures from others today, but I'd like to hear about them from your points of view. Tell me... what do you think was behind the goblin's attack? What do you think they were trying to achieve?"
