OOOh, an ACTUAL engraving... What happens if you delete the lineart layer, leaving only the shadows, and/or just set it to mostly transparent?

Hey, defeeca, that's pretty boss. Magma men are always terrifying, and now I have the privilege of staring into the very soul of one of them.
It is terrifying.

Anybody still have the link to the Forgotten Beast Art Contest, Mark II?

http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=124312.0

I didn't see a reply so I thought I'd answer.

I've done a couple of photo editing entries for that, which is the closest I ever get to drawing since I can't get what I "see" in my head out of a pencil onto paper.

Someone, get the bug zapper! What do you mean that won't work on a bug the size of a house which glows? No, I don't want to hear it. Just get the damn zapper.

Figure I should drop some fanart here, this was recently made after realizing the perfect size comparison for bogeymen shortness and adorableness.
bogeymen body size are half the size of a fluffly wambler.
The thing that commonly dread adventurers are smaller than the things adventurers pick up and use on bronze colossi.

3 bogeymen equal to 1 dwarf baby
you need 60 of them to stack up to a fully grown dwarf.

Makes those encounters look like kaiju battles.

And yet they can still punch your face in.  Makes me think of the Pictsies/Wee Free Men from Discworld.

I would like to point out that Goblins is active again.

Here's the newest page.

http://www.goblinscomic.org/09172014/

Thunt does some damn good work, and this page is a page with two dwarves fighting.

**Note.  The dwarf whose face you can see recently experienced an encounter where his beard became remarkably resistant to damage.  He uses it to shield himself in one of the frames, which might look strange if you don't know what/how/why.  I suggest reading through the whole series.  Worth the time.  His improvement as an artist over time is remarkable.

Tried a different uploader, but I haven't managed to get it right this time either.

Heya, yet some doodles have found their way from my phone;

Spoiler: Dwarf warrior (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Tundra Titan (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Caged elephant (click to show/hide)

Spoiler: Goblin scout (click to show/hide)

Arguably, the style (as well as quality) varies pretty heavily. I've been experimenting with phone doodles, but most of the time I just delete the results. These I've saved from summer scrabble binge I had in addition to previous ones.

Edited because duh.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Nice!

However, those are suspiciously pointy ears.  I would imagine that this dwarf has been in his fair share of fistfights over comments about his family's lineage.

Elves can't usually grow beards, so as long as his face-hair is suitably luscious he should be safe from the meandering Neanderthals of fortress-wrecking disrespect.

Or if they can, like in my own novels 'verse, the elves and dwarves have a good trading relationship of mostly fish for crafts. Although my dwarves don't trust anyone since even the elves have pirates.
