Rise! Rise from your shallow grave!

Warning, has some minor nudity
Spoiler: semi-NSFW (click to show/hide)

If this is not cool, I can take it back down. v__v

I think it'll be fine.  It's super rad, though!  I'm digging the guard, she's well-done.  Reminds me a lot of Final Fantasy.

I just have had this, if someday someone wants to draw an horror situation I would be very happy to offer this one ! My young niece is very fond of horror story and gore situation and she generally loves my stories from DF (and she is 9 years old), with limbs cut and blood everywhere.

So :
I just have had a vampire, and decided to get rid of him. She killed 5843 before coming here.And...of course, as soon as she arrived, she became my new mayor.

To get rid of unwanted dwarves, I create a burrow on a retractable bridge (3x3), and sent them 10 levels below in the same 3x3 room, without a door,...and I add her to the the next dead-soon procession.

I noticed that she didn't die. Many don't, and they die after days and weeks of suffering, of pain, of thirst, of madness. Some even become mad or depressive just by seeing so many dead bodies/skeletons. Some spat at the mayor, I'm not sure but I think he killed some of them and was seen. There are corpses everywhere, and I don't memorize forlorn ghosts (as they don't move).
After quite a time, I looked at him. Not a single wound. And all these thoughts...but...but...?
"How great it is to be surrounded by family!"
I founded this particularly strange, as her personnality is not at all overjoyful.

After a brief exchange about non-eurocentric influences in DF, I was inspired to draw some more culturally varied dwarves. Here's the first, a Persian inspired caravan guard:

Yes, I really wish I had a better webcam. Next time I'll try using my tablet, but it's in a box, somewhere, ugh.

Anyway, you can tell she's a caravan guard because she has her civ's emblem on her breastplate and helm - three cabochon-cut gems. (I always seem to get that one!)

I love her expression. It's that sidelong 'so we're stopping here, huh?' look I imagine most guards give the merchants when stopping by your average player fort.

You can change the forum display size with:

By the way, that's a nice depiction of hidden fun stuff.

once one realizes the size of dwarf fortress demons one really begins to understand how epic our dwarfs really are

It's kind of Bosch, really. It should be part of a triptych of dwarven suffering.

I also really like LadyGolem's caravan guard!

I have my last final tomorrow and I'm gonna wanna blow off a bit of steam afterwards, before I get back to working on TLCM.

If you leave a suggestion/idea between now and then I might be inclined to doodle it...

I have had an interesting situation with quite gore (look at #8208) , a lot of dead bodies and ghosts, if you have some time I would be very happy because this mayor (Count, since then), is a very important character for my current fortress !
