[Sabouts]

My friend Rogueliker and Me (Sabouts) have been recording a series of episodes in a Succession Game fashion. So far it has been a blast and it's been super fun overcoming challenges that each of us have accidentally (or purposely) set up for each other!

The rules for the series are that each of us will get two episodes with the fortress before we have to pass it on. Each episode is roughly 20 - 30 minutes long. Once we have survived our first year, we are allowed to issue each other more formal challenges that need to be completed. However, the challenge must be issued in some sort of in game method. People have really been enjoying the series and both the Dwarf Fortress and Roguelike subreddits loved the initial set up and first few episodes.

[Timeless Bob]

I've often found that renaming all of the dwarves using a patronymic principle (changing the wife's and children's surnames into the married male dwarves' surname, plus adding "Miss","Mrs" and "Mr" to denote gender) makes things a little easier to track not only during the fortress play itself, but also with future fortresses and in Legends mode.

Oh that is not a bad idea. You mean adding that so that you can tell which dwarfs have already been named right? So if you started another fort in the same world you would know if any of those named dwarfs showed up?

This is fun. Almost finished watching the episodes. I will take a miner or weaponsmith (preferably weaponsmith) call the dwarf Snow.

The fort is under my control, and for my first challenge... I must save a Dwarf?! I also get some surprise visiters and a human (who is not even a member of the fort) attempts to stall them and buy the dwarfs time, becoming a legend in the process!
