Hello I am having issues with pylnp v.11 freezing while in-game. I'm on Linux Mint 18 x64. The launcher freezes which blocks me from using dwarf therapist or any other mods. Any suggestions? Thanks!

PyLNP v0.11 is about 6 months old. You might check if the issue is fixed in PyLNP v0.12a. https://bitbucket.org/Pidgeot/python-lnp/downloads

I extracted those files into the main game folder and now pylnp is not frozen when playing the game, but now I'm having an issue with dwarf therapist connecting to the game. I tried the steps here: https://github.com/andrewd18/df-lnp-installer/wiki/Dwarf-Therapist-Cannot-Connect-to-Dwarf-Fortress and although I do have ptrace enabled on my distro, the command provided in the link doesn't fix therapist connecting. Autolabor is disabled but thats all the options I have changed in the launcher.

 i'm guessing you're using dwarf fortress version 0.43.03 with a memory map for that version installed into Dwarf Therapist, right?

Not sure what memory map is, the therapist's version is 37 and I'm running df version 0.43.03-r1

The memory map tells Dwarf Therapist how to talk to a particular version of Dwarf Fortress.
