The training exploit is called a "coinstar".

Basically, you load an item tosser with nearly weightless objects, like coins. These hit the dwarf over and over teaching dodger and armor user.  New versions make the coinstar deadly even with coins though.

Are socks deadly weapons ? ? ?
I like the idea of firing minted coins at invaders. Sounds boss.

Did the lever-puller get some good training from the experience?  I remember item-drop training using random socks and junk being a thing at one point, even though I can't find it on the wiki at the moment.

I didn't check, but I doubt he got much.  He was hit by a shoe (decidedly undeadly), and successfully dodged 2-3 other items, but otherwise the item spread was too wide to pelt his tile with very much.  I imagine he's a Dabbling Dodger now.  :)

Does the coinstar break stacks into individual coins?  I can't imagine the clean-up effort that would take.  I've never experimented with danger room setups, the military trains easily enough if you just make sure squads are active and change their schedule so they train in pairs.

ProvingGrounds was merely a setback.
