Humanity would need to collectively put down the shrooms

1) Universities and similar institutions would probably change test score requirements for entry into a flat INT or WIS barrier instead.

2) Dating websites would probably offer different categories to look for people in based on CHA scores. People with high CHA, if outnumbered by low-CHA people enough, would likely become hated outcasts.

3) Most competitions would quickly become meaningless as a result of being able to compare stats and skills to determine who would win anyway.

4) Governments would fight over people with maxed-out INT/WIS. The optimal career path quickly becomes pumping all your level-up points into INT, maybe a little WIS or CHA, but this creates a vacuum of strong and dextrous people, making that the optimal career of the next generation. This flip-flops repeatedly over the course of the rest of human history.

5) Genocides would likely become focused on purging people with low starting stat pools, rather than different appearance.

6) Depending on how high Wis and Int scores rise due to it being the optimal career path, it is possible that certain ideologies would fall into disuse and be abandoned.

1) They might have a 'minimum to apply' Int/Wis stat added, but I would think they would still include an entry test to gauge the individual's skills beyond the visible five.

2) Due to the number of different types of dating sites, I could see some cropping up, though I think ones that are based off of the sheet other people would see would be a bit more common due to having more information.

3) I do not think so, due to the everpresent luck factor and how different skills would interact in 1v1 sports, the different roles in team sports played differently depending upon the strategy a team utilizes, etc.  It's not an overhaul of the universe to make it obey stats, just putting a number to what already happens.

4) I can see governments wanting to capture individuals with high Int/Wis stats.  I don't agree with your latter point about optimal career path however.  That entirely depends upon the culture and environment a person is raised within.  People in impoverished sections of the world would probably want to focus on Strength and Consitution, as those would be the ones that help them live.  And don't forget about the interests of the individual.  A person may not prioritize Int/Wis, because those are not the types of jobs they like.

5) Considering the state babies are born in, they would probably have an effective stat of 0, bit of xp towards 1.  Bit meaningless to base it on that.  Development rate, on the other hand, might be affected.

6) Argued with optimal path above, but yes, there will be changes in the popularities of different ideologies.

1) It would also likely screw some folks over hard unless the skills were very discrete -- like, just an "art" skill would likely shaft people that are abnormally good at a specific sort, but bollocks at everything else.

2) Neurology and theology/metaphysics would see an absolute explosion in funding and study, though, just to figure out what the hell just happened to everyone's brainmeats.

1) "Art" and "Martial Arts" would probably be more of a category that opens up a submenu with different styles (Martial Arts probably being a subcategory of Combat, and Art being a subcategory of Culture.

2) Considering it's initial inexplicability, it might be thought of as an act of God(s) and a religious revival would kick off.

There will be a huge shift toward meritocracy...

And bullshitting / lying is a listed or hidden skill?

"Child!  Don't you be lying to me or I'll give you the switch!  I can see how good you are at lying!"

Counterskill: Detect bullshit / lies.

Lying would ironically remain am uncertain skill. Those with low Lying would not be suspected of telling lies, and so could get away with it, while those with high Lying would not be suspected of telling lies because of others knowing they can lie.

Thus leading to the ultimate conclusion that the Lying skill itself lies to the viewer.

Alternatively, people with 'Lying' high enough could speak the truth, but people would assume it is a lie, therefore causing people to believe the opposite is true.

Could've been FATAL. Or deadEarth.

At least FATAL would not last long.
Somebody would roll a negative on his orifice size and then the world would be destroyed by the ensuing negative space wedgie.
Kinda like dividing by zero, only with crap.

That doesn't logically work out if you are also claiming INT/WIS actually work as inteligence and wisdom. If those do, then high Cha would prevent you becoming a "hated outcast".

Sounds like an interesting basis for a Humanity Fuck Yeah type story: before developing FTL or whatnot, humans expanded the internet into a full AR system, learned their weaknesses, began min-maxing and level grinding, THEN discover how to zoop to other stars and find a universe full of noobs who did the quest chain for transport access without even looking at the rest, leading them to wonder if it is full of alts and mule characters, and where the main accounts are.

Hmmm...

It's sort of the opposite on the min-maxing angle, but something like this shows up in AT-43. It sets itself up as a blandly generic alternate Earth space opera, but it turns out that's all bullshit and these other humans were seeded by the real humanity, who ascended to posthuman godhood a million years ago and are here to kill everyone for muh negentropy preservation.

The real humanity, now calling themselves the Therians, are based off of internet culture and are kind of...incompetent. Turns out, being massively addicted to fun and living forever doesn't lend one's self to being good at warfare, and so they manage to lose all the time even when they should win instantly. It doesn't help that the thirst for drama means that as the Therians lose battles a lot of them only want to lose more to keep the ball rolling.
