Stockpile: Refuse -> Corpses -> only butcherable
« on: October 15, 2016, 03:00:13 am »

Especially now, that we have a great multitude of creatures (that can be turned into corpses) it would be great if we had a button for the stockpile creation to allow only butcherable corpses to be stored in a refuse pile (so that we can make a refuse pile for butcherable corpses near the butchers workshop/s that doesn't get flooded by unbutcherable corpses)

At the moment it seems to be a PITA, as you have to consult the DF wiki to find out (the many) non butcherable creatures and then search the non alphabetically sorted refuse-corpses list in order to find them and disallow their storage

There already exists a current 'sorting', and for most things, between the literal 'CORPSES' stockpile and the Refuse = Corpses stockpile, both which have two seperate hauling functions. Refuse handles animal bodies, and regular corpse pile handles sentients.

Burial hauling moves bodies (apparently according to the wiki its a little bit buggy) while refuse hauling also brings in broken off body parts, so its all a little convoluted.

But more precise butcherable/non butcherable based off [NON-BUTCHERABLE] (commonly found on giant bugs like giant flies and louses further adding to uselessness) or bodies with no yield-able products would be quite welcome to have their own 'literally horror inducing corpse trash pile' in my eyes unless we really had a alternative way to get rid of them like just sending off the corpse to be destroyed in a reaction (to which crematorium mods provide).

Crematorium mods? Do you mean magma?

No there are some mods out there that from memory use kiln code to destroy bodies (so a corpse item & fuel = ash or another product, sometimes nothing)

Magma works too but it has technical difficulties given that it sends off a red hot cloud if the target is particularly large.
