I would enjoy seeing rivalries between a dwarven god of fire and a dragon that several dwarves had begun worshipping. On the one hand, one is probably more trenched in dwarven tradition, but the other is a living, breathing powerful force in the physical world.

Perhaps the opposite might happen, where a civilization recognizes a dragon as the legitimate incarnation of their god and the two become one.

This could work with other megabeasts (and maybe even forgotten beasts), of course. Given how many forgotten beasts there are, I really would enjoy seeing them play a more active role in pantheons somehow.

If a bunch of dorfs start worshiping a megabeast, then the said megabeast slays the dorfs, that will have to lead to that particular fort's civilization's religious Dark Ages, with books having titles such as "The Gods Have Abandoned Us!" or something along those lines.
