You'll also want to memorise "Come Out Ye Black and Tans", the national anthem.

Sorry, but I avoid getting involved in politics as a general rule, foreign or otherwise.  :P

Seriously, I've spent most of my life in the Basque Country and Navarre. Asking anyone in either place about how Basque, Navarrese or Spanish they feel (or don't feel) can start trouble with literally anyone, as all three variables vary wildly. I avoid discussing religion and soccer for similar reasons.

I'm still busy with the registry paperwork, but in theory EU nationals get fast tracked so it should be OK.

Aftrt thats done I'll look into a place to rent near the workplace, I've already located some prospective targets.

As an aside, I'm intrigued about the weather. You see, I like  my home region because for the most part its wet, fresh and rainy (except during July and August where it can get a bit warm, and freezing temperatures in december), and if weather averaged websites are not lying, Irish weather is like that except all year long. Which is definitely a plus in my book

Resurrecting this due to imminent flight.

Need input about cheap Irish cellphone companies.

Also: is there anything open on Sundays?

Sorry, I can't answer those questions.
I can however wish you good luck with your new job!

Thx.

I already have an Irish cellphone. Currently busy trying to get the IMC to issue my final certification and finding accomodation... both of which are being soul-crushingly hard.

Otherwise I really like the place so far.

Well Google is not useful.

Reasons to live in Galway: Galway is awesome.

Reasons to live in Sligo: Sligo is awesome.

I would say Galway, since it's much bigger, and you'll be able to get access to shops n' stuff easier.

Mmmh, we'll see.

still no word from either. Might be that neither will come up.

I'm in no hurry though. Ideally I'd like to get my next contract in March which would give me time to put my things in order here.

Update: starting in Limerick soon

Apparently they won the national hurling contest (a traditional sport) and everyone was a bit euphoric. Got a nice place to rent near my workplace.

Addenum and a question:  I was considering commuting to work on an electric scooter. Does anyone know the laws involved and how risky or not it is?

It means a corporate recruiter. The name helps them feel better about themselves.
