Minor suggestion - Mayor meetings require chairs
« on: November 17, 2016, 10:26:54 am »

As the title suggests this only small suggestion to make meetings more organised and smoother.

The mayor holds more regular meetings, and people with interactions to specifically talk to him (officials/petitions etc) will take turns with the number of applicable seats, as to say you can have the room chair always set to be the one the mayor sits on, and surrounding chairs on the table be the ones where people take turns to talk. People sit and come and go, but as soon as 1 talker stops, the next one seated fires and the leaving talker free's up the chair rather than running halfway across the fortress at once to you.

> A more outward suggestion is to schedule breaks like a depot when the nobles are able to take or not take meetings or have a interim amount of time between meetings.

Dwarves will not eat at studies assigned to nobles (no snacking in the throne room!). And in instances you may be in adventure mode politely asked to sit down.

By default as such with a raw throne room (unless you wanted to make another seperate 'waiting room' and 'court' room out of a study with nothing but chairs and no tables) Would only be able to address 1 person speaking (within means of imagination bowing to the monarch) at a time leaving the rest either dawdling about or waiting.

The format for a waiting room is chairs detracted from the table where your noble is seated so that the people wanting to talk have to get up and walk over, as to say your throne compared to having people round a public meeting table all talking at once or in turn round table style.

Dwarves that meet organisers for comfort/any other reasons can also be placated all at once or more easily 1 at a time by sitting on chairs around the noble's study, as well as any further future interactions.
