Still unresponsive after 30 min of computer time

so ive embarked as humans, cause i had to make a new world as succumbi were lagging my game to death literally
so now im back with humans, and waiting half an hr now, and still unresponsive, any way to make it even a little faster?

Try to collect your thoughts and try to explain better:

1. What version of masterwork are you using?
2. What settings are you using?
3. Did you alter any files?
4. You opened up fortress mode and pick humans. When exactly lagging started?
5. Any errors in Dwarf Fortress/errorlog.txt ?

lagging has always happened to me at embark, unpausing, and any of that, so basically my computer may not be up to df masterwork
