Was rather easy...1386 words.  even had their correct plurals add a : to the lines that don't have a a second word and boom you have a list of nouns from the raws ready to be put in NOUN: tokens.... need to remove the junk from it... but that's still only a portion of 1386 words, I bet after all the removals, and removals of words already in the original... its probably ~500 new words to add in.  just on consideration, I'll reduce it tomorrow, and create a script to jack all the adjectives and verbs from the dictionary file.... That will be a much longer list... I'll even try and get it to look as pretty as the list above...

Another idea that just came to mind is once I pull the verb list and adjective list. cross check and remove the "originals" from them and the above Noun list.  then select 1000 adjectives and and 1000 verbs max each.  the word list blossoms to the target of 5000....  Now sleep.

:) 8) You are doing well there, however nouns are the easy part.  Verbs and adjectives require more work, a good start would be to take all the professions that are in the game and make a noun for the profession doing word.  So a farmer is not a seperate word but instead the noun form to the verb form of farming, since we are not talking English then it all works fine as we do not ever need the noun for a farmer separately from what he does.  We also do not need a noun form for farm either, since an adjective function for farm/farmer can simply be combined with the adjective function for site/place/house with are part of the object list we add in.

So farming is an original verb function for which farmer is the noun.  The adjective function for farming say is agricultural, instead of having to have a seperate word for farm we instead have agricultural-place, agricultural-house, agricultural-field or agricultural-hamlet, those being existing objects in the game that are nouns.

I am about half-way into your word list and I am considering manually adopting your approach once I am finished, mining the fixed words list as opposed to trying to use the whole thing.  Because it is going to take an ungodly amount of work to actually symbolize the whole thing, ontop of the ungodly amount of work needing to be done to simply fix the original document.

ungodly is a part of what I'm talking about....  Its why this project grinded to a stop.

based on the above list this is what I pulled out of that, after cross checking with the original word list:

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

If you had looked through that site I sent you a link to before, the rules for noun tag selection is automatic when I rip them from the script dictionary. So basically that line:
<W:WREN><N:wren:wrens>

becomes:
[WORD:WREN]
 [NOUN:wren:wrens]
..appropriate tags for a word with a plural defined.

and this line:
<W:ZINC><N:zinc:>
becomes:
[WORD:ZINC]
 [NOUN:zinc:]
..appropriate tags for a non plurable word (like scissors, pants, bronze, etc), words that don't have plural forms, because their single form and plural form are equal.

there is some adjectives(denoted as <J:XXX>) and verbs gleamed (denoted as <V:XXX>) because I didn't see a point in have individual words for ever {color} bear or the adjective of an animal seemed like an adjective I would want available elsewhere (snowy)... some though I just left in their words(peach-faced lovebird? I just don't know where to go with that...)  thought I'd put it to the group.  if they want me to pull all the "adjectives" off of lovebirds and mako sharks etc sure I will.... but it would end up with adjectives like "peach-faced" "heart-shaped" etc.
anyways this is approximately~700 much more manageable of a list of noun/nounish words to start with. we can add future nouns to the list as needed or spotted.

I'm working up a script to rip Adjectives and Verbs out of the original dictionary right now and place them in separate lists...

I like your idea on things such as farmer:farming.... I thought the job professions were already in the original word list... I'll check that soon,   we need all the jobs to be covered so that they all are:
<W:BUTCHER><N:butcher:butchers><V:butcher:butchers:butchered:butchered:butchering>
etc.  I'll see which are already in, and create ones for the missing ones.

let me know what you think of that list above...  I've had the internet down for 2 days here,  just now getting online to catch up.. my schedule may be moved back a day or 2 because of that.

You are doing well but it does not really matter what the adjective are for the various things like black bear and stuff because they ain't talking English.  They are not calling it a black bear at all, that is just what the corresponding english phrase *is*.  Having a black black bear is not really a problem because they are not really using the adjectives as part of the name so the translation while it sounds odd to our ears makes perfect sense in context.

On my part what I have done is create a very long list of word symbols (the ones the game uses).  I intend to recreate the whole language symbolism from scratch, initially using the vanilla words and then working for there.  Once I have finished with your work I will add any particular words I think are missing, using your old work as a word-mine since I can now only fix the words I choose to use rather than having to fix them all.  Once I have done the initial phrase of that I will go through the same raw digging as you are to add in lots of new nouns for various flora, fauna and minerals as it were.  It makes sense for me to offset this however since it is easier for me to add words when there are fewer of them than a larger quantity since I am doing it manually using the symbol files of the game.

nice.  At some point we will have to combine our 2 sets.

as for the bear thing.  I understand that 'idea'.  I left polar as separate, as they really are very different from most other bears.  But personally I already made the chop, and don't see a reason to go back and split it out... besides wasn't bear in the original set? I'll look.

I began working up a list of "profession" word groups basically job title, action verb, an adjective, etc.

basically [WORD:CARPENTER][NOUN:carpenter:carpenters][VERB:carpenter:carpenters:carpentered:carpentered:carpentering][ADJ:carpentry]

lols, some are more "difficult" animal caretaker? any takers? lol.

but really,  this project can become a huge headache in more ways than one.   I'll get focused for a couple of days... then I'm just ready to walk away... have to keep moving from section to section of the project to keep 'interest' going.

I would like to see which words you want to keep in.

I'm currently chopping a list of verbs and adjectives down at the fastest rate I can.  remove really ambiguous or really technical first.  and chopping for a target in the 2000 range on that list.

funny thing.... once you start chopping... it becomes easier at every step.  you realize how many words have the same meaning in a language that you felt you had command of... I'm at 5,666 lines left in a file that most likely has less than 5000 actual lines left lol.  My expanded list of words I've accepted into the future list is is only 750 long, 1200 maybe if you are counting verbs, adj, noun separately. the 2196 of the original plus this 750 is almost 3000.  So no more than 2000 more words, I'll post the full list and people can start arguing over what needs to be dropped and what needs to be added in.  then we can start working on a symbol table, then its off to the language creator to produce language words for the new files.  I'm not going to keep the old language words, it would be too much work and there was a few issues in them.  I know I'm a day behind my initial schedule... but I gave myself more time in the later steps then I think I need.

lol yeah RL hit me today, no work here or there, I spent some time with the family as we had an unexpected visit from a drifting relative.  I make schedules, because its like having dead lines at work... you know you can push the deadline back... but it motivates me.  I got the list left to search down to 5k prior to the unexpected visit.... if it wasn't for the fact that I really enjoy spending time with this relative I'd be upset about them showing up unannounced.

second post: list of additional words in consideration to the previous list:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

90%s are words you really need to talk me out of adding.  50% are words you don't have to talk to hard for me to take out. 10% are words that if you tell me they are good I keep them.  the numbers at the end i need a consensus on.   Lastly if there is a conflict issue or a particular word(words...) that you see missing and want added in talk to me about it.  I'm concerned I may have missed a DF item, if I did let me know what it was and I'll create it.

I'l let this stew for a week and see the response.  otherwise. I'm running with the additional words, 90%, 50%, culling the 10% and numbers.  It makes the pack as a whole a lot lighter (close to 1000 words added to the original, ~3200 total, total nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc, close to 5500 total).

Whatever pack I come up with once its finished, I'll make an addition pack for masterwork, adding probably 1500 more items creatures etc (lol masterwork adds a lot of stuff).   After that I'll build upward as people request particular words to be added in.

All thoughts, questions, etc. welcomed.

I thought I had locked it... Interest never picked up and other work was more pressing... also I found it had some adverse affects on slower older systems that I refused to be a part of ... I removed the files from access when I discovered it.

locking the topic now.
