New update. They added My Pet Dungeon mode. Two mission for free with the update, 6 more plus extras in a (reasonably cheap) DLC.

The amazing devs surprised us with a graphical overhaul.
WFTO now has dynamic lighting and shadows.
Plus some extras.

I play this game every once in a while still, and always enjoy it. It is a worthy successor of DK2.

Indeed, one of the few "spiritual successors" that actually do the source material justice, and not just sorta similar-ish gameplay capitalizing on an existing IP.

I think it was the minion and creature designs that stopped me really fully enjoying this game.

Its kinda silly to complain that a friendly NPC isn't a well designed boss fight.

For me it was lack of depth in managment. Rooms don’t need to care for noise, proximity etc.

Dungeon Keeper never had any of that

There's two kinds of performance reviews: the one you make they don't read, the one they make whilst they sharpen their daggers
Everyone sucks at everything. Until they don't. Not sucking is a product of time invested.
