treant siege dropping tons of clothes at border of the map

I had an pretty early invasion of a treant army. The weird thing is that they dropped a lot of clothes and weapons at  the border of the map. I just closed of my fortress because I was to slow going to be able to defend against 30+ treants but after they were gone, i looted all the clothes and sold them so thats nice for me but I don't think treants are supposed to act like little santa's giving me nice stuff to sell ?  :P

This happened to me with iron man corpses. Yes, iron men. The golems. Raised as corpses, somehow. They dropped over 200 articles of clothing.

My fortress was attacked by an army of reanimated toads, which also dropped a bunch of gear. >.>
