Crashing repeatedly on embark
« on: January 17, 2017, 08:58:17 am »

I can generate my world (with some difficulty) and find my embark site, but every time I press "e" to finalize the embark after customizing my dwarves, it crashes. I have tried for the past 3 hours today and another 2 hours yesterday. I uninstalled masterwork entirely and redownloaded it, and it did not fix it. I really don't know what could be causing this.

Try disableing some mods and civs, like random creatures, extra weapons and traps, 2 or 3civs, open df.exe with laa and deicated video card/gpu.

Try to make a bare minimal world just to see if the actual game works and not the settings you are choosing e.g. pocket size/tiny world

Here is a simple way to force Dwarf Fortress to use more processing power to not crash... as frequently. Probably.

-----

Launch Masterwork launcher.

Go to the Utilities tab in top left.

Click on "LLA" in the row still near top left. Permit LLA to run if it asks.

Find the vanilla version of "Dwarf Fortress" and copy its address. (Example:   This PC/Where ever the folder is/DF/Masterwork/Dwarf Fortress   )

Paste address into LLA and check mark the box on Large Address Aware Flag.

Commit the changes.

-----

Launch Dwarf Fortress and try to play normally.
