The fabled piecewise. With a Bowie reference, as a character. I suppose I left myself vulnerable to that. Anyway, accepted.

Wew.

Shhhh it changed. Mostly because sarcastic doomsaying skeleton seems like the best possible character for me to play.

Looking back on what I wrote last night, I'm not sure what I meant by 'magical application' How would you interpret it, anyway? I'll just change it to Runic Magic (1).

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

Runic Magic is good. Also, now would be a good time for everyone to read up on the DRD mechanics on the OP.

The party finds themselves yanked from wherever they were before (As per the blurb in the OP) laying on their backs in the middle of an intersection.  It is cold, and the wind that blows bites them all and leaves them chilled to the bone (which, in Mr. Bones' case, isn't saying much). After a moment or two of silence, everyone notices eachother's presence. This whole situation leaves you all a bit confused. An uncanny urge to speak to one another digs it's way into the party's minds. That is, until a shout from the top of what appears to be a nearby decrepit apartment complex breaks the silence and catches everyone's attention.

"Hey! Newbies! Get up here, and make it quick!". The voice belongs to a rough-faced man sticking his head out of a window on the third story, waving speedily. "I'll explain things once you get up here, just look for Room 909!". He pulls his head back in and shuts the window behind him, pulling shutters down over it. What do you do?

Summon a creature to act as my bodyguard, then head up to room 909.

..Yeuuugh..hmm. Curious. Where am- no, are WE? Well, whoever we are, we'd better start off with some introductions. The name is Arcodo, a Literi in service of the Ademire Academy library. Though, you may not know of the place. This city is..otherworldly. I would not be surprised to find that any of you, too, belong to different worlds.

Begin heading up to that room 909. Keep an eye out for the unusual, even the city itself. Who knows if it could be one big trap? Also, flip through memory for any significance of the number 909.
