@Misko: The fact that they're so different is what gave me the idea for the title because they're going to have to somehow find an intersect point between the two 'streams'.

Not actually new, but Trump has again pulled his equivalent of Bush 43's "I looked into his eyes and saw his soul." https://www.vox.com/2017/11/11/16636906/trump-russia-putin-intelligence Why is he so blind to the fact that the Russian government aren't our friend?

Another thing that has tangentially come out in relation to the Russia investigation, it turns out that the Flynns were offered 15 million to deliver that Gulen cleric guy to Turkey.

Trump isn't blind about Putin, at least not in a sub-existential sense. He's aligned with Putin, and it's all intentional. The only reason the US hasn't devolved into a Russian illiberal democracy is Trump's incompetence, though his fellow Republicans have certainly been trying for some time now. They know they can't win in a popular system, not without "correcting" the vote for the sake of "Real America". Why do you think they're so eager to gerrymander and use voting machines?

There's a t-word other than "Trump" which applies here quite cleanly.
