There was apparently a US based 747 water bomber that was sent down there to fight the fires. But it went to Bolivia, rather than Brazil. Also sounds like it was Bolivia who contracted them to do it rather than any sort of international aid situation. Bolivia was originally hesitant to ask for/accept outside help but eventually did start talking to other nations about it. Haven't seen anything about Brazil accepting help.

Honestly, I am surprised Clinton didn't offer Sanders the VP slot when she ran last cycle. She would have handily won if she had.

This cycle?  I honestly hope that whichever gets behind gets offered the VP slot.  Regardless of which one is in the lead, it will give them an obscene poll boost.

Silly Sanders, doesn't he know it's all about crushing your enemies, seeing them driven before you, and hearing the lamentations of their women.

The journalists just have a very different take on what makes a good story than Sanders does on how he wants to frame his campaign. Sanders wants to stand up and say "these are my policies, vote for me based on my strengths" while allowing other candidates to also promote their own strengths, whereas the media wants the drama and clicks from him punching down with "don't vote for Dumb Warren, vote for Smart Me!"

Sander is just too smart to start playing their game because he knows it's just about clicks for them.

It's kind of the sad state of things that rather than selling each of the candidates actual strengths, it's the norm that you're supposed to just convince everyone else that your opponents are more vile than you. Basically the game becomes to be as big a muck-raker as possible while avoiding being seen as a muck-raker. To constantly throw shit like a monkey while working out how to avoid your own shits landing back on you.
