Marvin Minsky the AI researcher?

yeah, he got swept up in the Epstein stuff too. Just to point up how wide a net that actually is.

Who is the worst member of the Trump Cabinent?

All of them.  The world could be a vastly better place overnight if the WH got burned down a second time.

Epstien was pimp to the rich and famous. He didn't only pimp underage girls, but definitely did a lot of that. His arrest probably put half of Hollywood and most politicians on edge. It could have been anyone.

Trump seems a likely candidate because under his administration someone was clearly assassinated in prison and his administration didn't respond. So at the very least, they're happy someone killed him and aren't interested to find out who did it.

Fearless orange toupee asserts that he will magnanimously explore a shameless abuse of executive power because Democrats cannot come to an agreement on the unemployment benefits issues surrounding Covid-19.

I'd say Barr is the worst. He's both clever and brutal in his evil, and also he might have been the one to give the order on Epstein. Moreover, he's doing a lot of the leg work defending the administration legally - several other members of this list would be been sidelined by the courts without his influence.
It's either barr or devos, imo, and for all his remarkably shite everything, I'd probably lean devos. Her damage is specifically fucking over generations of kids and focusing itself on one of our most vital and most fragile pieces of infrastructure, so... I'unno.

Maybe barr's worse on the net of things, but as a teacher's kid devos is the one I'd be least troubled by if they somehow fell head first into an active industrial scale woodchipper. Barr'd probably be a real close second, though, for sure.

MK Ultra is a good example of a wide ranging conspiracy that discredited the looser ends and also had a bunch of people participating in it unknowingly.

Also, like, look at systemic racism. It's effectively a conspiracy and is unknowingly perpetuated by like...the entire population.

You could call it an "emergent conspiracy," one that works from the lower levels upwards instead of being centrally-controlled/top-down.

It's feels unfit to call it a conspiracy if it lacks in the conspiring department

The Governor of Ohio tested positive for Coronavirus, as part of the White House's standard procedure for testing people coming into contact with the president.

That's not really fair IMO. Each and every one of them have worked hard to be as bad as they are, from the active villainy of Barr to Pompeo who has prompted yet another Inspector General to resign. From the dozing Wilbur Ross whose leadership of the Commerce Department led to the insightful decision to close the decennial census early for no reason, to the former oil&gas exec and what one Democratic Senator called "The Babe Ruth of Stonewalling", Bernhardt the Secretary of the Interior, one of the key figures in the clearing of Lafeyette square. Of course there is Alex Azar, the HHS secretary, who has bungled the pandemic response with as much fervor as his attempts to de facto remove Obamacare. And if you are worried about the future, Betsy DeVos cannot be disregarded; our public school hating education secretary is not content with merely suing colleges over affirmative action, no she's moved on to forcing students to go to school in a pandemic; if you're worried about the farther future, Anothony Wheeler of the EPA is a former energy lobbyist who is convinced EPA stands for "Economic Protection Agency" and has used the pandemic to issue furthe outrageous climate rules rollbacks because... pandemic. And there are still others!

It's a very competitive field.

EDIT: as counter-evidence, Epstein actually authored and signed a new will just days before his death:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/aug/22/jeffrey-epstein-trust-fund-will-damages

I guess we could add another lay of conspiracy about this whole will / trust-fund thing, how they forced him to sign it etc etc etc. But it's already getting a fair bit more convoluted right there. So, the lawyers who were party to this new will were clearly in on the conspiracy and Epstein should have clearly known something was up. you're not forced to sign a new will then surprised when a few days later they fake CCTV footage, bribe the guards then fake a suicide.
I mean, someone already tried to kill him and he presumably knew they would try again.
In the case of "I'm totally going to get murdered pretty much no matter what I do" and "rich person screwing over the law to ensure the money doesn't go to who it legally should (aka, all the women he victimized)" signing a new will seems like something he would do.

Iowa is ending the voting ban on felons. This is a good step in democracy.

Can't wait for Trump to villainize the Republican who did it by saying something about voter fraud.

It's still insanity to me that felon disenfranchisement is even a thing (in 48 of 50 states). For all that people in this country get paranoid about government power at times, the powers that the government can really abuse against them are accepted and gleefully defended. Oh yeah, we can't let criminals vote because if we did then ? ? ?.

It's crazy. It's exactly one of those things that is punishing to a minority of the population and is built in such a way that it won't get changed.
