Doesn't matter, nonconstitutional monarchies are not automatically boundaryless tyrannical monarchies where the king can do whatever he whims and everyone else just had to go along with it.

Caligula levels of doing whatever he/she whims and everybody having to go along with it tends to result in getting assassinated anyways. Regardless, historical absolute monarchies could still get pretty dang tyrannical.

Greetings from the Kingdom of the Netherlands

There's also UK, aka United Kingdom. Europe still has a whole lot of royalty kicking around, though they're all more or less relegated to figureheads these days and the idea of royalty is changing from the way it was thought of a hundred, or even 200 years ago. Especially with the younger generation in England.

That's what I witnessed, anyway. They seemed to feel like their choice was between Emperor Palpatine or The Kurgan.

If only Trump was as awesome as Kurgan.

One of my favorite villains.

The French had the right idea for once.  The best way to limit the influence of monarchs is to make them shorter

The best part is that now Trump can't defend Kushner without being a hypocrit, and nobody who defended Clinton can attack Kushnner about it. A great way for systematic corruption to take root in the institution!

For the same reason morons use "password" for their password.

Actually taking infosec seriously is very inconvenient, and "important people" dont like inconveniences. (those are for little people.)

Throw in some QED about Dunning-Krueger and believing that convenience trumps security, as it relates to competency in infosec heavy jobs.

Well that'd be fine, except Trump is a hypocrite, so everything kind of falls apart there.

That's true, I just wanted at the attack/defend similarity.

Edit: I mean, the republican establishment was hypocrites about this to begin with in that they were okay with the practice when Colin Powell/whoever else before Clinton was doing it, but I dont expect them not to be as I am highly biased against them. My peeve lay with this self-obvious corrupt practice suddenly being okay to liberals when Clinton was the one doing it. I've said it before, but I feel that that it was a trick she learned from the Dick Cheney administration speaks leagues about it's moral value in and of itself.

I don't remember the Dems making a big fuss about it under Powell.

They didn't make a fuss because there were literally NO actual protocols and Colin basically had to figure out what to do about cybersecurity himself.
