The talking heads on CNN just finished explaining that the president can't actually deploy military to enforce illegal immigration, at least not without declaring war on Mexico first. So this was most likely just a case of Trump not actually knowing what he was saying. Hopefully.

Apparently this *has* been done before with the national guard being deployed to shore up border patrol when caravans have arrived before, but I suspect the scale and duration of this operation may be different. So we have used them to supplement before, but I think the type and purpose of mission was different.

Why make the military stay there? (I mean, that would be unconstitutional, technically, in one of the more unlikely amendments to be broken. Maybe he's going for a collection? Trying to break them all?) When you could make the immigrants stay there.

I believe it was a joke, given Youtube's propensity for seriously pissing off its own userbase.

My assumption was that it was a reference to Youtube's stated intention of cracking down on gun-related videos.

Heh... I've been seeing memes going around all week about how there are no female mass shooters.  They're all entitled cishet white boys.  This is quite the twist.

Not all, but they're pretty rare, apparently. Iirc the last number I noticed was that out of the last 150 or so incidents (going by the common definition of 4+ shot (at?)), all of four (4) have been female. So it happens, just... not often. At all.
