Idiot superdelegates will pick Biden regardless of who anyone else really wants.  Who cares.

That's only IF there is a contested convention.

They are not as powerful as they were last round; If popular vote is for Sanders, they will have trouble.

Basically, they do not vote on the first round of eliminations; The contenders MUST be selected by popular vote.

The thing though is that a contested convention means neither gets a majority, thus if it's two candidates, the popular vote is going to be roughly equal or close enough to reasonably make an argument for either. Things get messier if theres three or more candidates and it's there that the Superdelegates will essentially be in a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' or maybe a 'out of the frying pan and into the fire' situation because any obvious favoritism by the superdelegates will likely result in a backlash.

I sometimes wonder if we'd be better no worse off if all political appointments were done by lottery, not by election.

NOTE: This is a fanciful wondering, not any kind of rigorous pontification.

Well, close elections are already decided by lot - whether a few hundred people decided to vote or not, whether a dozen people got in a car wreck on the way to the election center or not, etc.

Trump to NASA administrator:

Why can't we jump the shark on a logistically unfeasible mission?!

NASA administrator:
Because it would be logistically unfeasible, and people would die.

Basically. Apparently Trump does not comprehend the fuel cost problem, or the space radiation problem, or the "We need to design robust long term habitats that are light enough to ship" problem, or the "We need to be able to refine materials at location" problem, or... Basically anything at all about the mission other than "I'm the best! I got people the mars-- they said it couldn't be done, but I'm such a good motivator and leader, I got it done. Yup, the best."

I have the perfect solution.  Trump can be volunteered to be the first on mars, even ASAP.  Then he can learn all about the logistics of space.  Send a Tesla car with him, too.

Sadly, NASA has rules about contaminating celestial bodies with virulent lifeforms...

Puerto Rico wants to impeach their Governor. Governor does not want to be impeached. Standoff is ongoing for 5 days now.

If the people want the governor impeached, the governor should be impeached. Here’s hoping things don’t need to be violent

Don't they have the recall option? California did that years ago with governor Gray Davis. Though the impeachment proccess would be a more serious thing given all the problems over there.
