Rebalancing curses (Mainly for adventure mode)
« on: February 21, 2017, 11:13:25 pm »

As of now, getting "cursed" is never bad, in fact, it's quite good.

My proposal is that the effects be changed so that there's a chance of something other than becoming a were beast or vampire. This curse would be affected by the deity's spheres, for example the patron deity of deformity might cripple you, or break one of your arms. This is just one idea, there could be many others.

Massive update on its way with changes to everything godly, magical and cursely. Does nothing like this feature anywhere in the proposed changes?

Werecreatures and vampires could certainly do with more disadvantages, though. I guess a lot will come naturally when vampire purges make it out of abstracted worldgen into the real world and when being a member of society actual has actual advantages.

Also, with questing npcs already coming, it's only a matter of time before being a werecreature will involve having to live in a lair and fend off waves of hunters.

Well the mummy curse is bad.
Maybe it could shrink you or make your bones into glass or something, or make you become nauseous at random times, or something.

What exactly is the mummy curse?
10(?)% chance to fail any skill roll, forever. It's pretty much a death sentence.

Reading his name would trigger it. Thinking of him would trigger it. No other circumstances would trigger it- it was strictly related to the concept of Bill Clinton entering the conscious mind.

It makes you miss a lot of your things, or your amazing legendary+15 shield user skills make you miss the one bolt that kills you. He curses you with bad luck... I hate it.

Maybe a god of the ocean could make you vomit up seawater and vermin fish at random, or make it so you had to keep your skin wet otherwise it dried and cracked.
