Headless vampire
« on: February 24, 2017, 02:30:55 am »

So, I was looking for toruble and a person told me about a dragon. When I asked where it is they told me:

So I went to search for this vampire. After a while, I found her, and accused her:

But she did not attack me. So I looked at her and saw this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

It would appear, that vampires can now survive without their heads.
My question is:  How does she speak?

Might be bug, but it is hillarious. Imagine a human walking around without a head and everyone being fine with it.

I think it was lying on the floor.

Like a headless dead guy lying on the floor, and people regarding it as a normal person. And it speaks.

So, because she was unlikely to drain someone without her head, I let her live and asked her about trouble.

Then I went to a bandit camp she pointed me to.

Then she attempted to ambush me.

Heh.

I've heard of this happening with non-vampires.  They can do things in worldgen (like becoming rulers) and will be generated alive, but since they have no brain, they die immediately after being loaded due to suffocation.  But since vampires don't need to breathe...

Check the vamp's history.  Sometimes, creatures lose  random limbs in battle during worldgen, perhaps the game simply doesn't realize that "his head was ripped off" means he should be dead, though that's kind of a big oversight... Maybe it's because of the addition of the neck body part, since the neck itself isn't technically a vital organ worldgen doesn't realize their head should be gone as well.

so an undead being is walking around with no head. so yeah she technically like a smarter zombie.
though how can she talk?
well she still have a torso with lungs and a hole where her neck should be,
she also a doctor so chock it up to medical science and surgery.
congrats on angering your first dr. dullahan lady.

she probably took her head off so she doesn't go into a blood thirsty frenzy when operating on the towns people.

She did not return to the village, so I may or may not find her again.

Edit: She just came back.

Unfortunately, the description only sais:
"
A medium-sized creature prone to great ambition.

Her neck is gone

oh crud yeah she has no neck which means she has no upper spine or nerves which means she has no control over her legs and arms
I guess she was hoping for a werebeast curse to cure her head problems and got lucked into immortality.

I guess she has her husband wheel her around in a wheelbarrowchair.
