New Excel Hyper: True Regalia Invocation: Sword of Promised Victory: Minato summons the original concept of Excalibur itself from the Gaia Memory instead of simply imitating it. Excalibur is unrivalled in speed and strength, and is far superior even to the perfect copies that Minato can invoke using True Regalia Replication.

New Hyper: Imperfect Regalia Replication: Flying Palace [4]: Vimana, the Chariot of Lord Kubera that rides upon the skies at speeds unparalleled. Minato may summon Vimana for short periods of time, allowing him to teleport into combat or out of it quickly.

[Excel] Planetary Bust: Yoake calls on the ancients strength to grant her bust the force of planets. This causes it to grow larger, and possess a heavy gravitational force. This effect lasts for 2 attacks (although she can defend 3 attacks),  and causes her bust attacks to become incredibly strong, and her bust defense to be essentially impenetrable.
[4] Wāpu za Shotto, Warp the Shot: Yoake takes the brunt of an opponents attacks with her breasts, before launching an assault with the stored strength right into the opponent's face.

[5, Negative Emotion]: No Way Out: Faith fires a magical pair of bolas at the enemy -- when these hit they burn with magical energy and though they don't physically bind the target they do magically render the enemy unable to evade or run, though not unable to attack. They last until broken physically or magically, though the former is harder.
[R, Bravado] Lucky Sunbeam: Faith fires off another beam, but this one is yellow and so bright it hurts to look at. Lucky Sunbeam can only be used with a 6, and upfront does a stupid amount of heat damage to a single target. The negative effects of the 6 are also amplified, tending towards exhaustion or clothing damage.

Just warning you that of the two things Lucky Sunbeam tends to, whether an overshot causes clothing damage or exhaustion is dependent on the tone and context. So clothing damage won't be as common in less silly situations 😛

Tutorial 1 - Conserving Alterations

((Note: This content is not assessable.))

The chamber extends out from you in all directions, ripples tracing out across the glassy floor as you advance towards your target - a living sculpture made in the image of the human body. Within, a circulatory system pulses away in red, a nervous system flares green, and the faintest of shadows trace the paths of bones.

You are somewhere within the depths of the Eisenberg Health research building, in a private chamber secreted away in the Sanctuary that wreathes the facility. Rosario for his part is currently fiddling with settings on a projected display, the dummy target twitching every now and then as if to acknowledge the changes he's applying.

"Okay, first, show me what you can do at close-range. Need to see where you are to know what to teach."

With a flick of the wrist, the dummy conjures a straightsword and begins advancing towards you.

((For this tutorial you will not have access to Resolve or Alterations.))

Quote from: Strider
Shef appeared rather bemused by this setup, though not disappointed. It would work, he guessed. Hopefully they either had a method that would keep the dummy from decapitating him, or some way to keep him alive when he got hit. For now though, Shef advanced slowly, waiting for the dummy to move. There was really no point in charging at a sword wielding with no weapons and no training. Might as well try to react to an attack rather than make one. Assuming that Shef gets fairly close to the dummy before it raises it's sword to swing, Shef would try to get in close before the swing to punch the dummy in the stomach with his left hand. If the dummy does something else (stabbing, charging, etc.) Shef will react when that happens.

The dummy goes for a slash, but your fist strikes them before their weapon may connect, sending it stumbling and robbing force from its swing. The blade still connects, but robbed of power the damage it does is no cause for concern. Your foe now goes for a swift thrust.

Quote from: Worldline
5 6 5 3 6 1 6 3 1

Quote from: Strider
After the hit, Shef backs away, trying to keep some distance between himself and the dummy. When the thrust comes in, Shef attempts to get in around it before grabbing the machines wrist and slamming down on its weapon arm with his own steel reinforced arm.

Try as you might you're too slow. The dummy allows you to back away just a bit, but closes in before you can disengage, taking advantage of your movement to stay out of your range while keeping you within striking distance of its own weapon, the thrust when it comes strikes you in the chest, it's a solid hit, though it doesn't hurt too much either.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
The next time that the artificial enemy attacks, Shef will attempt to bat its sword away with his reinforced arm, again trying to get in close. If he's able to get in, he'll try to tackle the dummy to the ground.
Empiricist: You successfully parry their strikes, rushing forwards for a tackle but as you grab the dummy they suddenly lurch to the side spinning around as you both fall, aiming to land on top.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to brace his left elbow against the floor so that the falling machine lands squarely on it. If this succeeds, Shef will use his other hand to try to wrench the sword away in the brief moment when the dummy will hopefully be somewhat stunned.

Your punch goes off without a hitch, stunning your opponent, and while you do succeed in disarming them, they don't seem to mind too much seeing as they immediately curl their hand into a fist and starts punching you in the face.

Quote from: Worldline
3 6 1 6 3 1

Quote from: Strider
Shef took the hit to the face, as he focused on something else, primarily trying to toss the sword as far away as possible. He then tried to raised up the arm that had formerly held the sword in order to try to block some of the impacts.

You toss away the sword, but well, your foe's still just punching you in the face.

Quote from: Worldline
6 1 6 3 1

Quote from: Strider
Taking the pain, Shef tries to work his left arm under the dummy. If he can do this, he'll attempt to throw the dummy sideways onto its back, and in the same motion he'll attempt to hit the dummy in the throat with the same arm.

You swing your arm, rolling the dummy off of you and onto its back, flickering ripples rushing out from where your exoskeleton struck the ground more pressingly, not the dummy's throat.

Quote from: Worldline
1 6 3 1

Quote from: Strider
Shef rolled over onto the dummy, until his weight was on top of it. Once there, he planted his hands on the ground in order to drive his knee into the mechanical opponents crotch.

You roll at your foe and try to knee them, but they quickly roll away and begin to get back up.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Assuming that the dummy is attempting to get up on its feet, rather than some type of hand stand or flip into a standing position, Shef attempts to grab the dummy's leg and pull it out of under the thing. Preferably, he'll attempt to guide the fall so that the dummy might fall on its head.

You lunge for the dummy's leg, pulling it out and toppling it over, but as it falls, it braces its arms below itself and kicks out with its free foot, striking you in the head.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
After stumbling a bit from the hit to the head, Shef would attempt to get in to punch the dummy in the face with his left hand.

The dummy quickly rolls away from your punch and continues rolling, trying to widen the gap.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Shef lets him go, while trying to circle around to keep himself between the dummy and the sword.

You circle around and the dummy halts.

"Okay, that's enough for now." Rosario walks over "Let's go over that shall we? You started off by punching it and then backing away. Why did you back away?"

Quote from: Strider
"Think that was when the dummy was trying to stab me? Didn't really know what it had in store at the point, so I was a bit cautious. So partly reflex, trying to get away from being stabbed, and partly not knowing what to expect."

"I see. In that case, let's try this..."

The dummy lurches back to life, its sword dissipating and reappearing in its grasp. It walks towards you and adopts a front guard. Rosario nods and it goes for a quick thrust.

Quote from: Objective

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Shef came to the conclusion that he definitely needed to get in close again. It was either that, take a stab to the stomach, or just dance out of reach, which seemed pointless. As the blade approached, Shef attempted to pivot past it, using his right (nonreinforced) hand to guide the blade away. In combat this would definitely hurt quite a bit, and might still be quite dangerous if successful, due to the existence of cursed blades. However, in the short time that he had to think, that was what Shef came up with. As he tried to pass by the sword strike, Shef attempted to strike the dummy's neck, almost as though he was clotheslining him with a metal arm.

You guide the blade away bringing the blade of your arm against the dummy's throat sending it stumbling backwards, it spins its blade aiming to drive its pommel into your face, likely planning to follow up with a sidestep and quick slash.

Quote from: Worldline
1

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to block the strike with his arm, before attempting to grab said hilt of the sword and try to force it from it's current orientation to stab the dummy.

You do to your credit manage to block, but it's already sidestepping and slashing before you can even try wresting the weapon away.

The dummy again goes limp.

"You are aware that circumstance was not in your favor by the time you tried to grab, correct?"

Quote from: Strider
"Yes. Not really sure what I should have done there."

"You had the right idea going for a heavier strike when you knew it was in your favor. Problem was, you tried to follow it up with something that's harder to pull off when things were no longer so favorable. You need to be aggressive, but that doesn't always mean attacking."

The dummy gets back into position.

"Try again, this time put everything you can into that first blow, and when it retaliates, just do what you can to block while moving to the side. Do a fast jab with your right hand if you can, but that isn't too neccesarily. Stick close to your foe though, you need to stay in range."

The dummy raises its guard and again goes for that same thrust.

Quote from: Objective

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
"I see. I've got something else in mind too. Mind if I try it first?"

"Be my guest."

Quote from: Strider
When the dummy begins its attack, Shef tried what he had done before, dodging the strike, then getting in close. This time, instead of simply attempting to wack the dummy in the throat with his outstretched arm, Shef snaked his arm around the back of the dummy's head, and held that hand tight with the other, attempting to choke the machine.

You begin the choke however while you're choking the dummy it just does another thrust, your own attack rendering you unable to dodge as it sends you stumbling backwards from the strike.

((Basically it works Turn 1. But Turn 2, the dunmy just fucks you.))

Quote from: Strider
For the repeated scenario, Shef tries a similar sidestep a before, though he wondered whether the dummy was programmed to learn from the number of times he tried it. As soon as he passed the blade, Shef would put all the force he could into a simple punch to the stomach.

Again the dummy is sent stumbling backwards, and again it tries to retaliate with its pomel and sidestepping slash, but now it seems a bit less steady on its feet.

Quote from: Worldline
1

Quote from: Strider
Shef follows the advice he was given, trying to stick in close to lessen the force of the incoming blow, while using his forearms to deflect the pommel strike. When the dummy attempts to step out, Shef will try to stick in close and try a jab at the dummy's ribs as Rosario suggested.

It goes, mostly fine. You manage to mitigate the damage of the pommel strike, but when the slash comes out, you get caught by the blade just as you land your punch.

"Good, but focus on your footwork. Step to the side to try and evade or weaken its strike, that's the focus. The jab is optional."

Quote from: Strider
"Ah right" Shef muttered, a little out of breath.

The dummy resets again.

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to sidestep the first strike, guiding it away with his reinforced arm before coming in with the chop to the throat that he had used earlier.

Success, the dummy is sent reeling but quickly goes for the usual retaliation.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Shef tries to keep in close to the pommel strike and block it with his forearms. When the secondary strike comes in, he attempts to block it with his forearms in much the same way as he does with the pommel strike.

As the strike comes from the side, it's awfully awkward, but you manage. Unfortunately, it means that the followup pommel strike hits you square in the chest.

"Good, but you need to step to the side, otherwise well, that happens." He pauses glancing over you. "Do you need a breather?"

Quote from: Strider
"Sure, thanks. Just for a moment. Can I get a glass of water?"

Rosario nods and taps a button on his interface, a platform rising up from the floor. A glass of water is dispensed from it. "It's a new system" he explains "used to be BYO but it was awkward just leaving towels and drinks all over the floor so we've had a few more of these things built into the chamber."

Quote from: Strider
"Mm. I see." After taking a sip of water, and resting for a minute, Shef steps back over to the dummy to try again. "So for the final strike in this program, you want me to get out of the area where the main force of his strike is focused? Or did you mean something else?"

"Step in the same direction as the slash, if you're fast, the slash will end before it reaches you, if you're not so fast, it's still weakened because it's near its termination. If things were a bit more favorable you could try hitting them with a jab while you do it, rob it of even more power, but as your instincts will attest, your worldline won't be in too good a shape for that."

Quote from: Strider
"Ah, thanks. Wasn't quite sure what you meant earlier, but that clears things up. Suppose I'm ready for another bout."

He nods and the dummy resets, going again for the thrust.

. . .Shef steps in around the first strike to punch the dummy in the solar plexus.

Foe punched. You know the drill now.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
As the dummy attempts to jab Shef with the pommel, he blocks with his forearms, and in response to the following swing, attempts to step sort of along the arc which the sword would follow, though still staying somewhat close so as to reduce the speed of the impacting blade.

The blade still strikes you, but doesn't do too much, mitigated by your movements. It tries to follow up with a pommel strike but with your arms still in front, you're able to block it. The dummy freezes.

"Excellent, and here, depending on your worldline, you can just keep that up or resume your offense. Idea is, when your worldline's high, you can set things aside for the lows, makes you less dependant on alterations. Using things like shielding effects, strength enhancements, or just techniques that make it harder for them to go on the offense can also give you a pretty good buffer for the tougher moments."

The dummy resets, a bit further away than before as you note.

"Still, I do need to need to make sure you aren't just memorizing this specific move, and I'd like to see you go back on the offense, so..."

The dummy blitzes forth towards you intent on delivering a heavy upwards swing.

Quote from: Objective
Defeat the dummy at close range
Quote from: Worldline
5 5 5 1 3

Quote from: Strider
When the dummy approaches for its upwards swing, Shef attempts to get in close on the opposite side from which the swing began. There, instead of chopping at the dummy's throat like he had been before, Shef attempts to secure his arm around the front of the dummy's throat to throw it to the ground in a direction somewhat diagonally backwards.

The cut is fast, powerful, you aren't able to fully get away, forced to glance it off your armored arm, though that's fine for you, the damage not too heavy, and your arm right where you need it. You succeed in catching them by the throat and start forcing them down, but they recover from the impact quickly, quickly twisting prone, and swiping at your legs as they seek to return to rise back up.

Quote from: Worldline
5 5 1 3

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to jump over the swing at his legs, before leaning quickly down to try to slam the dummy's head against the ground again.

You leap over the swing and come back down fist first where the dummy's head was, missing by an inch as it pushes itself backwards. Now it lunges forwards, leaping forwards and upwards as to quickly rush forwards while getting back on its feet at the same time, aiming to drive its blade into you.

Quote from: Worldline
5 1 3

Quote from: Strider
Shef again tries to guide the blade past him with his reinforced hand, before attempting to use that rush to once again throw the dummy to the floor. He attempts to twist the sword away from it's hand while it falls.

Due to the dummy's forward-leaning posture, you have trouble throwing it outright, though you do manage to daze it a bit with the impact of your arm against its head. It travels a short distance, no more than half a meter past you and spins around for a slash, likely to be followed by another quick cut or a punch.

Quote from: Worldline
1 3

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to step slightly inward to the terminal end of the slash, to hopefully be hit by the very base of the blade, or even the dummy's arms.

The slash smacks against your side, the followup colliding against your arms. You take damage, but it could've been worse, far worse.

Quote from: Worldline
3

Quote from: Strider
Shef ignores the pain as best he can, before attempting to get a close punch to the stomach against the dummy.

You jab your foe in the gut, the point of impact flaring green with pain signals and then red from ruptured capillaries. You aren't entirely unscathed either, taking a glancing blow from a thrust, but all in all you're confident you won that trade.

"Not too easy to disarm is it? It's way easier in the movies. Still, you did well enough, let's move on to the next exercise, shall we?"

The dummy resets and waits for a few moments before closing in on you. This time it doesn't go for anything too committed, instead making quick thrusts followed by sidesteps that you can tell are just waiting to flow into quick slashes if you try closing in. It's leveraging its greater reach now.

Quote from: Objective

Quote from: Strider
"Mm, sure." After getting a quick sip of water, Shef moved back to the center opposite the dummy. As soon as the dummy begins its attack, Shef attempts to time a kick towards the area where the dummy is holding the sword, so that he might hit while the dummy is outstretched on one of its jabs.

There are many ways to deal with a thrust and as you learn for people like you, trying to kick the weilder in the arm isn't it one of them. The kick is awkward, robbed of strength by the positioning, and before you can bring yours foot back down, the dummy swiftly closes the gap and strikes you in the face with the pommel sending you stumbling backwards. It continues its thrust-sidestep-counter routine.

Quote from: Worldline
5 5 1 1 5 5 5

Quote from: Strider
Shef blinks a bit, forehead stinging from the impact.  Getting back into a responsive position, Shef attempts to get in under one of the jabs, to hopefully throw the dummy. Perhaps this would get around the counter at that came after the jabs.

You duck under the jab and take a slash for your troubles, still you manage to close in and catch the dummy in a grab just above the waist. It twirls its sword and is about it bring the blade right down onto your spine from above.

Quote from: Worldline
5 1 1 5 5 5

Quote from: Strider
Shef will attempt to slide his grip downwards to pull the dummy's legs forwards out of under it, hopefully lessening the strike to his back in the process.

Okay that one hurt. Could've hurt more though, as you expected, trying to effectively do crunches while stabbing you really didn't help the dummy and its head slams against the ground. It tries to kick you while twisting into a prone position.

Quote from: Worldline
1 1 5 5 5

Quote from: Strider
After getting stabbed in the back, Shef was starting to regret signing up for this. He backed away from the kick, attempting to catch it at the end of its motion.

You back away from the kick avoiding taking any real damage but failing to catch it either. Now prone, the dummy rises and spins around into a crouching position though no attack is made yet.

Quote from: Worldline
1 5 5 5

Quote from: Strider
Shef will attempt to stay close, and stomp on the hand holding the sword.

Staying close works, stomping not so much as your foe quickly goes into couching position. It makes a quick swipe as it leaps backwards, followed by a probing thrust and a backwards sidestep.

Quote from: Worldline
5 5 5

Quote from: Strider
Breathing heavily by this point, Shef stays back out of the range of the dummy's swing. When the dummy once again begins it's pattern, Shef will attempt to take advantage of its backwards sidestep to get in close with a punch to the stomach.

You again get nicked by the blade during your charge but the heavy punch leaves you foe staggered, it tries to retaliate with a pommel strike followed by a knee.

Quote from: Worldline
5 5

Quote from: Strider
In response to the incoming pommel strike, Shef attempts to duck under, before reaching up to grab the dummy's arms. From there, he will try to pivot and continue crouching to throw the dummy over his shoulder to the floor.

Your throw goes without a hitch, slamming the dummy into the ground. It does not move any further.

"Going out on a limb here and guessing you're focusing on throws because it'd let you shoot them while they're down?"

Quote from: Strider
"Sure. Wasn't really thinking that way, more that I don't quite have the speed and precision for flurries of individual attacks. Probably something that might come with practice. Throws are a bit slower, or at least still seem to work when done a bit slower."

"A heavy strike may still be your bet at close range, you recover quickly from blows so you may be able to follow up faster when trading blows. Plus I'd imagine right now throws would not be particularly effective against those who seek to fight you at close range, especially not if you take advantage of a foe being off-balance to just portal then away."

Quote from: Strider
"Ah, wasn't thinking about the fact that most of my enemies probably won't be on the weight scale of a human dummy. Punches probably would be better, now that you mention it, because you can punch through a portal from an unexpected direction. . ."

"Some are, some aren't, but of course enhanced speed and increased strength aren't uncommon and are not traits you have right now. If you can somehow use your portals to increase your attacking options that would help out a lot, or I could try and organize something with one of the Q-3 units see if they can't teach you how to shoot better in close quarters."

Quote from: Strider
"Q-3? What's that? Certainly sounds like something to look into. . ."

"Ryouta's group, Quarantine-3, they're all good at gunplay."

Quote from: Strider
"Ah, right. What else do we want to cover tonight?" As he said this, Shef checked his watch to get a feel for what the time was.

"Sparring."

The dummy melts away into the floor as Rosario walks in front of you assuming a guarding stance.

"Feel free to shoot, I can take it."

Shef pulls out his pistol, locks it in, and fires a few shots at Rosario, simply to test how he would respond.

Hands ablur your handler seems to just deflect your incoming rounds as he closes the distance. It's hard to read what he's about to do, but you suspect he's going to go for a quick kick to your legs to knock you off balance and follow up with a heavy strike to your head or upper body.

Quote from: Worldline

Quote from: Strider
Shef attempts to brace himself with a wider stance, and lean in before the predicted upper body strike to take the hit before it hits its peak speed.

The kick comes out fast and heavy, sending you completely offbalance, you keep your guard though, your exoskeleton taking the brunt of Rosario's attack. It's a powerful blow, the strike seemingly accelerating just before impact, seems that this fast casting magic of his manifests as enhancements rather than anything flashier, at least for now. You stumble backwards, but you're still on your feet, and not too hurt all things considered.

Quote from: Strider
Using Portal 3 "Hey, look over there!", Shef opens up a portal beneath Rosario, to hopefully drop the man in front of him. In the process, Shef will attempt to take a large swing with his right hand at where Rosario's head would soon be, while with the other hand taking a few shots at Rosario's torso under the cover of the punch.

You manage to portal Rosario and drop him right in front of you. He blocks your punch with his arms but it leaves nothing protecting his portal as you discharge a burst of fire right into him, blasting him backwards. He remains low and rushes back into range, he's not moving as quickly as he first did, likely preparing to avoid any portals you throw his way. You can tell he's going for a fast punch now.

Shef tries to pivot inward to the side opposite of the punch. He'll take another few shots at Rosario's gut if he can for them in.

You pivot to avoid the punch, but he just sidesteps to the side punches you with his other hand as you stumble backwards he remarks "Only works for more committed strikes." continuing to strike at you with a flurry of blows.

Shef frowns momentarily before summoning a portal from his left side to the back of Rosario's head. He will attempt to punch through with one hand, while shooting at Rosario's face with the other.

Your punch catches Rosario offguard, but as you try to shoot him, he brings his hand up against the blade of your arm forcing your aim up and away from him. Simultaneously, using the motion of his arm as a counter balance, he pivots ever so slightly aiming a low hard kick right against your shins.

Shef attempts to take advantage of the pivot by trying to force Rosario down backwards with his arm. (The goal is to slam Rosario across the chest, aiming slightly downwards, and take advantage of the fact that he is on one foot.)

Your maneuver succeeds in forcing Rosario off-balance and falling backwards, but pushing his arm back further also drives his foot into your faster, sending you falling with him as he grabs a hold of your wrist.

Following this, Shef tries to punch Rosario in the chest with his free hand.

You go for the punch but Rosario counters your blow with his own. He doesn't meet you fist to fist, rather twisting his arm during the punch, using the side of his arm against yours to disrupt the blow. "It is here I would suggest a portal if you're able." His other hand, the one holding your wrist begins to glow ominously.

Quote from: Strider
Shef will attempt to bring his knee up to hit Rosario in the crotch. Now to hope that Rosario's thing takes a bit of time to charge

You drive your knee straight into Rosario's groin, unfortunately, judging by the impact, that too is covered by his carapace. ...And he might no longer be in possession of that kind of hardware either for that matter. "Bad choice." With a burst of speed, he shoves you off, sending you tumbling backwards, and as he stands back up he closes his fist as it is wreathed in a small but energetic explosion, as if to show you what would've happened were this in the field. He rushes towards you again.

Shef grimaces, knowing that he was only spared by Rosario's mercy. He raises his pistol at Rosario, and pulls the trigger rapidly in quick succession, emptying the magazine. (Hyper 4: Rapid Fire, using one of that set of three 4s). Before he has even finished, he will attempt to begin to rush towards Rosario, wrap his non-gun arm around the back of Rosario's neck, and fling him to the ground. ((Attempting to throw Rosario in the same direction that Rosario was rushing, through a sort of pivot))

Your sheer volume of fire proves too dense for Rosario to fully deflect staggering him and forcing him backwards as you close in, wrapping your arm around his neck and go for the throw. He's, light, lighter than you'd expect, couldn't weigh any more than a regular person in spite of that exoskeleton. Might be some kind of enchantment. Your throw, does not go well, your opponent somehow twisting downwards, slipping out from your grasp and in that same motion striking you just below the ribs with an elbow strike that sends you staggering backwards as he goes for a flurry of blows. "Like I said, it's hard to pull a throw on someone that much focused on close quarters."

Quote from: Strider
After inserting another magazine as quickly as possible, Shef will attempt to slow Rosario with down with a few shots, before trying to block the hits with his forearms.

You fire a few more rounds Rosario's way before putting up a block, his fists flow from strike to strike, hammering on your guard but failing to break it. He continues though, seeking to overwhelm you and break your guard.

Quote from: Strider
Shef will create a portal (Hyper 3 Hey look over there!) under Rosario, dropping him feet first through the portal. He will come out of a horizontal exit (so Rosario should come flying feet first sideways out of a portal in front of shef, but not aimed at him. Basically just traveling from left to right in front of him) From there, Shef throws a punch with his left hand at the man's torso.

You portal him and hit him right in the gut. He quickly springs back to his feet but out of stance.

"Question: why did you portal me right in front of you?"

Quote from: Strider
"Been having trouble getting in when you've got a chance to prepare before you attack. The whole flurry of punches that you start out with doesn't leave many openings, so I thought it would be best to keep the pressure up. Make sense?"

"Sort of, however when you discharge a high volume of fire, I am unable to block all of it and am left staggered, and you yourself are better at range than in close quarters, I'm wondering why you didn't just portal me away and unload."

Quote from: Strider
"Didn't think about it, I guess. I guess I was just thinking I shouldn't do that when trying to get close quarters experience? I'll keep it in mind though. . ."

"Perhaps, but it is a means to an end. If you can blunt a foe's offence and close range and force them in to a more advantageous distance, then I'd consider you suitably proficient at close quarters. The goal is to eliminate someone who has closed in, not neccesarily through melee."

Quote from: Strider
"Right."

"You've been taking shots pretty well. That an effect of the armor, or mainly your powers? Or equal combinations? I'm curious how it works."

"It is a combination of the amount of shards I have integrated into myself and this armor. Mind you, I do not know handle physical attacks particularly well, were you more experienced as a Godslayer those shots would have posed a far greater threat to me. Of course if you were more experienced..." another explosion consumes his fist, this time with no prior glow at all, it just, happens. "Today was mostly tactics, making the use of your powers, I'll be sure to teach you how to throw a good punch sometimes, mind you, in this world, you can get quite far with raw power alone, so whether that lesson will be in technique or power, that's up to you. Oh and, proper throws as well if you wish, though your portals seem to a better option for the same result."

Quote from: Strider
"Are we finishing up then?"

"Well, do you have anything in particular you'd like advice on? If not yeah, we can finish up and watch how you do in the field."

Quote from: Strider
"I don't think so. Any quick advice you can give in general?"

"Appearances can deceitful, I've heard of some pretty colorful people who are downright lethal when it comes down to it, so try and work well with your teammates, get to know them and all that, the more experienced two are pretty damn valuable contacts to have. Work together well with your teammates, communication in battle is important. Oh and, don't just stock up for the job you signed up for, keep some contingencies, these things can lead to some strange places."

Quote from: Strider
"I'll keep that in mind. You have any specific time in mind for next session?"

"Nah, just contact me when you're free and we'll figure out a time."

Quote from: Strider
Shef nods in agreement before grabbing his things and departing, heading home.

Since I apparently didn't do this already, I'm changing Minato's Excalibur out for this:

True Regalia Invocation: Unerring Spear of the Allfather [R]: Minato imbues the concept of Gungnir, the spear of Odin with unerring aim, into his body and strikes the opponent at full force. As long as Minato is in melee range of the opponent, the attack will never miss and cannot be evaded.

Level up time, woo!

Spoiler: Master Martial Artist (click to show/hide)

Talked with Emp about it, buuut, I changed two of my old Hypers, Dump Butt Roll and Warp the Shot, because I never used them. They are now Evil Bust and Quick-Draw Breast Sword, and the new hyper is Heat Butt.

Close Quarters went from 4 to 6 and edited description, Defense went from 5 to 6 and edited description, and Ranged went from 1 to 2, with edited description.

Within that world, she was God. But here, outside of it, her name was Yoake o-Shiri. That was unimportant. She was a Godslayer. That too was unimportant. But what was important, was that she had a motherfucking boat.
And by God, was she going to use it.
