". . . Ah. Of course. That'd explain it." Shef opened his mouth to say something further, but seemed to think better of it. Wasn't any point in chastising more really. He was having trouble processing all of this right now, so many strange things being thrown up to see at once. He needed to focus, on the stuff that would be relevant to him and Yuki getting out of here. He could learn about these aliens later, and what Noriko was doing perhaps. Not now though.

"So, uh, maybe what the pipebombs were for next? Think I've seen what I need after that though, and you, Yuki?"

Noriko stared at the suit for a long time, slightly stunned at the offer and trying to evaluate whether she should. Which proved to be a mistake on a number of fronts, as not only did it completely fail to clear her thoughts (quite the opposite, really,) it also torpedoed her efforts to look like a respectable human being, to the point where even Kouta waddled over and bumped her slightly. "Uh, sure." Noriko jumped as if startled. Wait, she hadn't meant to - why did she say that? "I mean, uhhhh. . . "

Noriko
Well, whatever it is you were supposed to say it's a little too late now as you find yourself getting lead back into your bungalow and soon relieved of your swimsuit. You manage to sputter out a request for a more modest, or at least less fetishistic manner of outfit but given that the whole application process consists of standing there butt-naked and getting sprayed down with nothing to look at save for Patricija... it's yeah, not doing wonders for your mindset. A quick visit to the shower completes the outfit, marking the point where it stops feeling like something you've sprayed on and more like something you're actually wearing. Something squeezing you ever so slightly, thought not entirely unpleasantly, and more to the point, not as opaque as you were hoping for.

Well on the bright side, none of the material got activated prematurely.

Kouta
So Noriko comes back and er well.... she was hoping for something more modest than Patricija's attire but honestly looking at it you can't fucking tell. The main thing that makes a tankini more conservative than Patricija's swimsuit would be the material properties, the dynamics of loose fabric as opposed to gel, the opacity of the weave, but of course this was made from the same material, fashioned from the same methods. This one, yeah, this doesn't have any of that. When it comes down to it Noriko just walked out wearing something pretty similar to Patricija's outfit just with marginally less fabric thanks to its two-piece split configuration.

Minato, Shef, and Yuki
A quick fast-forward quickly answers your questions. The answer is that there is apparently a large and more to the point tall tree somewhere in Kingshaven, a tree with branches of carved driftwood adorned with glass-like leaves. Sometime last night there was cat stuck inside it, a black cat with a white spot on its chest.

So uh, turns out Yuki dislodged it. With a pipebomb.

Shef, you make another cursory glance outside and notice something's wrong - people are looking up, up at something on your building's roof. And as you watch you see the shadows lengthen one by one in orderly panels.

The shinobi most likely, he's building something on the roof.

"Think we're done here, Yuki. We've got company. Maria, hand over any methods which you might be communicating with your teammates over to Minato till this fight is done." Requiem activated at full power. It was probably a bug on Yuki, as he'd checked himself more recently, though, were there many places to mount a bug with Yuki's  current getup? Ignis had stopped broadcasting their location, seemingly.

Shef then approached the counter, looking for someone who seemed to work here. "Can I get to the roof from inside?"

<<"Hah, well, I think I'd prefer Sailor for short. I have to keep up with the theme, you know! And, uh, hey Fluffles.">>

With that awkward note out, Faith found herself very rapidly wearing enchanted winter clothing and a jetpack -- and being magically warm and flying through the sky with actual consistency and maneuverability rather than haphazardly blasting herself at high power sure was one hell of an upgrade from her post-mall-exit experience, even if that itself had frankly been a lot of fun. She found this to be a confidence booster and, well, since as is she was feeling surprisingly nice... honestly, she was practically glowing with pride! She was also LITERALLY glowing thanks to the sad remnants of her initial shield, but that was a secondary thing.

As for the actual combat, Faith found that she had two primary objectives. The first was to not get iced, figuratively or shockingly literally -- and the second was to see if she couldn't blow up some of those ice flower things, since they seemed to be strengthening the interceptors. The first she figured that she could manage by just diving and diving hard to get out of the radius of the giant missile thing... but managing the second she thought might be a bit harder. Maybe she was just going to focus on those interceptors for now -- and as she dove, she flashed a powerful beam of Doki-Doki laced energy at the squadron of interceptors coming her way! <<"Let's see how they like this!">>

Faith dives out of the blast radius and casts a Regalia-enhanced and Doki-Doki laced Freedom Beam at the attacking interceptors, erring on the wide side in order to hit as many of the encroaching interceptors as she could! Alteration to 4.

World Line (oh my god): 1-->4 1 1 1 4 3 4 6 4 2

Distance had been running very clever mental calculations involving her allies' attacks and movement and the powers of spatial warping and teleportation by swapping, she swore! But that all came to a screeching halt the moment that she suddenly had an idea that was really cool, and that was even adopted from her battles with her ~dear~, daaarling nemesis, to boot! Oh, she really couldn't resist... and maybe it would actually be a good idea for preventing the interceptors from attacking and regenerating, especially if her current winggirl attacked them as well...

With a grin, Distance shouted inaudibly into the cold air: "<Pahaha, foolish beings of ice... did you TRULY think that your beams of sunlight could outdo the incredible power of the Sinister Magical Girl of Space, Distance Dark?!>" And then she performed a surprisingly subtle spatial change -- she warped the scale and angle of a certain area of air, so that the flower-granted sunlight going through it was manipulated as if by a mirror... and she wildly *bent* that sunlight, completely away from the direction of the squadron of interceptors that it was supposed to replenish!

(Also, she dived out of the range of the whole super ice missile thing.)

Distance dives and uses Lens in order to completely redirect the energy beams from the Ice Weeds that are fueling the incoming squadron of interceptors away from them, shooting these beams of energy up uselessly into the sky!

Slowly shifting his rocket boots to wheel himself about, Immanuel brings himself a little closer the IceyBM's path for a moment, charging up a potent blast of magical energy to try and screw up it's enchantments as he yelled for everyone to, Eagle 1 Challenger <<Challenger here, everyone get the hell out of the IceyBM's range, I'm going to try and screw with their best laid plans>>. He'll then fire out his spell at the iceyBM before fucking off himself, intending on at least adding on some unexpected magical effects to the blast, if not distrupt it's warheads entirely.

Alteration to 4, Spend a 6 to use Arcane Infusion: Überwältigen to infuse the iceyBM with volatile, possibly disruptive magic before flying away.

Faith
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Glacial Skies]

Eagle 3 Legion <<Copy that Sailor.>>

Eight frozen husks explode across the frontlines, ice and snow haemorrhaging through broken vessels. Sixteen spears of ice streak down from the heavens. Sixteen warheads to bring doom to the allied forces.

Their blast radius is massive, wide swathes of sky engulfed by cryonic energies in short order, each detonation accompanied by a sense of profound cold, catching adventurer and interceptor alike in their wake sending frozen napalm and vanquished adventurers raining down into the seas below. The interceptors, they do not mind. If anything they flew straight for the blasts, their frames visibly wreathed with coronas of icy radiance as they sweep around into the shattered allied formations.

Auxiliary thrusters flare to life along the along the fuselage of the approaching League interceptors, cold flames illuminating with unearthly candescence as they spin a full ninety degrees, bringing their wings perpendicular to their initial trajectory in a rather extreme imitation of the cobra maneuver. Autocannons deploy from their underbellies, stubby cylindrical units ringed with spinning mechanisms that spew a frightful deluge of ice and snow, their swivelling mountings angling them more to the side than anywhere else - with their present velocity they need more impulse lateral than forward, they're practically running the bullets into the targets.

The stall buys them about a split-second's worth of fire. A split second before they blitz past their effective range. Further maneuvering extends this to about a whole half-second of fire, the interceptors pivoting as they blow past their targets shots roaring not only from the front but the flanks as well. Those who raised shields find they cannot turn around in time, be from the sheer speed of the assault, or because they find their shields frozen in place, affixed by the hail-fire they had just caught. The casualty count rises steeply, scores of adventurers freezing solid and plummeting from the skies.

At this point the towers kick into play and beam power into the interceptors, laser-thermal engines flaying to life rocketing them away at an impossible angle. Whatever cryogenic munitions remain is purged as a smokescreen, a cloud of freezing mist to obscure vision and dissuade any would-be attempts at pursuing.

A brutal opening. A wide area bombardment to scatter the formations with interceptors rushing out to cut down the disarrayed and fleeing forces. Paradoxically as a result, most of the casualties took place near the edge of each blast zone.

All except two - the blast zones of Warheads 1 and 2.

In the case of Warhead 1, there was a malfunction of sorts. A malfunction by the name of Immanuel Gottlieb. As the warhead streaked towards him, the knight stretched out his hand, channeling unstable energies into the heart of the weapon. The explosion was not of ice and cold.

No, it was darkness, turbulent darkness. A fuzzy black expanse pulsating with a great monstrous heartbeat. One that became one hundred as it ignited with eyes emerald green, raw feline energy condensing into a clowder of spectral black cats. It was not enough to save his meatshields comrades. The presence of angry magic cats on one's person proves to be awfully distracting and most crash be it into a wall or the nitrogen sea below. It could not save his comrades, but it could doom his foes. The League interceptors acted as magical ramjets and it just so happened they didn't focus just ice energy. No no no, they focused the feline energy too. Right into their engine block. They did not survive the wrath that ensued.

Warhead 2 was a different matter altogether. The warhead detonated and the interceptors began their attack pattern as expected, however something happened as their strafing run ended, namely they didn't escape. Or rather they couldn't escape. The beams aimed at their underbellies had missed, trajectories bedeviled by Distance Dark's spacial manipulation. Without the thermal energy of the beams all they had were their limited auxiliary thrusters and their residual velocity, the velocity they had just bled away for their attack run. In other words, they were shit out of luck as a wide angle blast of pink energy ripped through their formation, Doki Doki Energy surging and refocusing into homing tendrils to hunt down the stragglers. The interceptor frames proved to be markedly more resistant to energy attacks - layers of plating vaporizing away and attenuating the sub-beams as they lanced through their fuselages, it wasn't enough to stop them, but it did by time, precious seconds for the interceptor cores to shift out of each beam's path. The only permanent damage these fortunate few survivors suffer being from the HORRIFIC DEBILITATING RADIATION NOW COURSING THROUGH THEIR SYSTEMS, radiation under the control of Eagle Squadron's own Faith Tatsumaki.

All in all, in that shitshow of an opening, Eagle Squadron had cut down more than four times their own number and without a single hit to boot.

The successful interceptors streak up in the the skies, scattering as they regroup and regenerate. Below, the allied forces regroup. Casualties are high, but most have weathered the storm and like the cancer they will adapt - through the culling of their own, through the loss of those who couldn't make it, slowly but surely refining those that remain into a killing edge. Radio chatter picks up. Combat doctrines shift, shift to what worked. It was a failure as a whole, but there successes amidst the skirmishes, and from this they will learn. Mobility boosts, AoEs, sabotage.

They are not the only ones planning.

In the League's own network there are fewer voices but there are voices still and now one calls out above all others.
AWACS ReaperEye <<Magus Squadron, move to intercept.>>

Minato, Shef, and Yuki
Minato, your transformation actually goes fine. You look like Masked Knight Gaia as opposed to y'know, a member of one of the branch families. Are the anomalies caused by Gandiva somehow? They seem to pop up whenever you summon it and it seems strangely accurate which isn't really part of Gandiva's supposed benefits package. Anyways, Shef Requiems the girl into handing over her phone to you for safekeeping.

Shef, best bet would... actually it'd be Maria actually. "Yes, but that's where we live. Why?"
Guessing going through her house is out of the question then.

Yuki, you stuff your mouth with ice cream, rev your chainsaw, and get ready to fuck a bitch up. That's a lie by the way, you're always ready to fuck a bitch up.

"Don't worry Minato, we'll protect you." Shef joked. More seriously, he added, "Just a rematch, one of our other scheduled fights. Nothing to worry about for you." They'd said they wanted a handicap, was it simply the ambush setup, or would they expect something of him outside? Either way, they knew his abilities. He already had portals cached, a few at least, but before leaving, he'd want to activate his constricting portal enchantment. It was controlled of course, so he wouldn't have to worry about accidentally crushing himself.

"So what do you think, Yuki?" As he said this, Shef sent out one of the origami combat drones, to get footage of the roof, and after that, hopefully the front and sides of the building.

At least the outfit was comfortable. Not that Noriko was worrying much about that as she darted into the water, face an impressive shade of scarlet. She was acutely aware of everyone else on the beach and regardless of what she actually saw, she was pretty sure someone was staring at her. The suit hadn't been so bad, if unusual, but this was almost worse than prancing around naked. She glanced at Kouta, and unconsciously mumbled something about them not being related before turning back to Patricija, having gone into the water up to her neck.

Shef
Okay yeah, it's the rest of Maria's squad. Shinobi's built a nice little fort for them, a blocky angular construction stretching across three rooftops with an overhang perfect for dropping kunai and torpedoes below. Good vantage point too. If it had windows. Doesn't though, maybe it's transparent to them? Or maybe the Unflappable Shinobi will be their spotter, he certainly seems capable of seeing through his own constructions. Can't tell the internal structure from here if you're going for an assault. Best escape option if I can comes down to it would probably be a mad dash across the street and behind cover using portaled attacks to suppress them and kick up debris. Which is to say the street is probably a torpedo-laden minefield. Buildings too if Canan's any good with them. Guessing she is - it's the only damn thing she bothers using.

Overhang makes it hard to ascend from the outside. Harder than normal anyways. Need a way to stop them from dropping shots on your heads. Explosives oughta do the trick, force them away from the better positions, provide multiple entry points so Baghead can't just answer your breach with a punch.

Noriko
You dive into the water, hoping that it will quench THE IMMENSE HEAT RADIATING FROM YOUR FACE but it alas it is futile for THERE IS NOWHERE TO HIDE IN THE CRYSTAL CLEAR WATERS. WHY DID YOU AGREE TO THIS OH GOD (not that God exists, least not by the conception of most faiths given what the fuck has been going on these days).

Reasserting that you and your brother ARE NOT BLOOD-RELATED you turn to face Patricija who looks like she's having a bit too much fun with this.
"So, how does it feel?"

Shef will first show Yuki the footage he's obtained, to give her a better impression.

"You're gonna need a breach, I think, while I'd best stay back. Normally, confined passages would be fine, but since the mask guy controls them. . . not so great. We'll breach from the side I think, and I'll provide fire support? How does that sound."

If Shef received an affirmative answer, he'd begin portaling bits of the magic C4 up to the fort, to be detonated when Yuki was ready to teleport up and charge in. After that, he'd begin by firing an Expulser round in such a way as to hit as much of the fort as possible in a straight line. No need to portal this one around, just break up the maze a bit for Yuki.
