Noriko
"<What?>"
Yeah needless to say the pair were not expecting an entire ragtag party to pop out of the bushes. Patricija quickly translates your words to English. The priest kinda just glances awkwardly back at the lady for a moment before responding.
"<I guess not. What's happening? Is the wedding back on?>"

Shef and Yuki
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: At The Very Beginning]

EVERYTHING IS PAIN. AGAIN. BUT ALSO FOR YUKI THIS TIME.

Especially Yuki this time actually. The sudden appearance of the pepper spray around her head- ah who are we kidding, she's Yuki, she wouldn't have dodged it anyways. Okay yeah so she just gets fucking nailed in the face by lasers.

Black Arrows rush out from under her feet, it's a bit hard to figure out where exactly her foe is given that she can't see or hear clearly and the guy can just portal, but the sheer volume of arrows makes up for that expanding in a wild search pattern even if the arrows are all swerving around like, the motions of someone who's just gotten sprayed.

The Swordsman slashes again, a rift splitting through the air as a gunshot rings out. Beams streak out, rushing to carve a path through the black tide. But something's wrong, the volume of fire. It's too low, far too low, it's as if- no, that gunshot, could it be?
"<IZZY!>"

Yeah Izzy's out. Straight up just shot himself in the head. Kinda like P*rsona, except y'know, the only thing that came out was blood.

Shef wasn't done just yet, he brings another magazine to his hand and scatters it out, rounds portaling out to meet its quarry. And then he fires. The leviathan is consumed by light as bullet meets bullets, the RAM rounds dumping their own spirit energy payloads into the clothing damage rounds, overloading them in flashes of light. The monstrosity's chest tears open. There's an explosion, multiple explosions in fact, and within it all, a scream. Guess she had grenades on her.

[Now Playing: Nothing]

The bubbles around Shef and Yuki's heads collapse. Now they're only mostly blind and in a world of hurt rather than all that plus half-deaf and suffocating. Shef drops to a knee coughing, wheezing, gasping for breath. The world's spinning. That aura extension, it's tiring to maintain.

Still, he could still fight. He's taken out their power supply. Taken a thorn out his side too. The last shreds of that living Regalia dissolving away, scattered around the smoking crater-

Smoke. Debris. Ugh.

Never let it be said that Shef Willems does not learn his lesson. He braces himself upright, straining his eyes through the pain as he scans through the smoke. He can't make out a damn thing. His eyes are burning, blinded by tears. But he can still see light. The light of magic. Of shielding. The light now revealed to his eyes, and in the smoke he sees neither healing nor shielding. Only the Lurker's combat pass had activated.

Yuki also finds the bubble vanishing from her head. She's also yeah still mostly blinded but she does at least have a better idea of where her target is and what he's doing. Namely, he's tearing open a portal except it doesn't seem to be an escape portal like the ones Shef tends to use. Because he doesn't seem to be reappearing anywhere else nearby. Instead he jumps in and the portal closes on his sword such that only the blade is exposed. And now the blade rushes towards her like a shark's fin above water. If y'know, sharks murdered things with razor sharp fins rather than crushing bites and tearing teeth.

Now Minato, you see a little more. Since y'know, you're not getting fucking pepper sprayed. Plus unlike those peasants your combat attire comes with a nice sealed helmet anyways. What you see is the Magician kick the Lurker's gun over into the smoke cloud.

You see her drawing seven cards and igniting them all. You see the massive sigil that traces behind her.

[Now Playing: Necrofantasia]

It resembles a Navajo sand painting. This one you haven't seen in particular, there aren't exactly an abundance of sand paintings bastardized with the style of a playing card illustration; still you've a good idea of what it depicts. How could you not? It's part of your family history. A bewitched bow that exiled a rogue god to the heavens above. Course your grandma's rendition had a different destination in mind, a certain lunar compound staffed with forklifts and holding a certain demagogue fated to meet his end by her team's hand.

The hero of that myth was a gambler. And he cheated. Cheated harder than a fucking Y*-Gi-Oh protagonist. How fitting, after all, the Magician's been cheating too.

Those cards she's been throwing out? She's been playing them the same order she first scattered them. Whole point of those weak spells in the opening was probably to get a nice good look at her deck before the reset.

You're guessing this is "all in".

Spinning magic circles flare to life around Shef, their inscriptions reminiscent of the patterns on a roulette wheel further sigils and circuit lines intersecting through their forms giving them a more sophisticated construct-like appearance. They spin rapidly around Shef tracing walls of unmoving munitions, a few holes poked here and there to create a veritable maze of bullets. When the bullets finally move, they move in as one, a labyrinth constructed and imploded layer by layer, Shef trapped within.

And running right out of the smoke, into the labyrinth, is the Assailant. You spend extra long examining her just to be sure. It's always important to make sure if someone suddenly pops back up they're not just a decoy or something. Yup. Totally. Not because she's in her underwear now. Not at all nope.

Oh yeah she's still in the game. Practically unharmed really. See, what Shef and Yuki didn't see was that the moment she got her bubbles out she started cutting power to her Regalia, freeing her from it. That little super mode of hers? It brought her slack, just like that summoner from before. The bindings that ensnare her enlarged Regalia are not as effective at ensnaring her. Left her vest in there, her grenades too, needed to cover it up.

And now, now she's rushing out, the Lurker's handgun in her hand, an orb of energy charging in its barrel, a shred of fabric wrapped around her eyes. She blindfolded herself? Might not be a bad idea given Shef's Requiem, provided of course she can still sense him movement somehow. Though that might not be enough - he had forced that boy to shoot himself without so much as a glance.

So yeah, she's charging into that little slice of bullet hell, her motions are a little odd though, it's as if she's synchronizing them with the movement of those circles. Is she trying to use them as cover?

Shef, you don't really see the sigil behind the Magician, but you do have some idea of the continuously imploding bullet maze you find around you. Judging by how there are runes under you that seem to shift with even your slightest movement you're guessing this thing will try to follow you even through a portal. Course whatever damage it can do is limited however - with the power supply gone it can only do so much damage at any given time. it's hard to dodge sure, but you're not exactly good at dodging at the first place. If it comes down to it, you can take your hits.

You also just notice the Assailant charging through the maze towards you. That could be a little more problematic. You think she's trying to get off that shot she's charging at point blank range.

The grenades were odd, and had left Shef with a conundrum that he did not have the time to dwell on. He'd have to ask later (did they know he'd end up destroying the suit that way?), but for now, he had to act, and rather quickly. He was in a good spot, removing the power supply kid without slowing his pace at all, he just had to parry this assault in some manner. The shifting sigils, he wouldn't be shaking this off easily. He'd have to take it. But as long as he wasn't near the psycho cop when he did. . .

Expulser [3] on the Assailant, followed by a set of regular shots. Aim center of mass for the first few, and if there's more time before one of the bullet hell projectile strikes and interrupts, aim a few at the arm and charging gun. Portal below feet to open the distance and evade if she chucks the gun or evades the Expulser.

Thinking fast in order to try and stave off a potential defeat, Immanuel brings all of his swords close, grabbing onto as many as he can, not to try and wield them himself, but to allow them a chance of keeping up when he targets himself with a staggering amount of speed and mobility enhancement spells, causing two wings of light to trail behind him as he yells out, "CHALLENGER ONE, BLASTING OFFFFF!." The unnecessarily loud scream heralding his attempt at literally throwing his swords at the wires trying to hook around him to cut them into tinier pieces.

Immanuel uses a 4 to activate Arcane Infusion: Mobilität+ before he tries to cut the wires before they can ensnare him.

Distance
"Ohoho, you lot are trying your very best, hmmm?" Distance spoke out loud, adopting the attitude of a smug villainess. "Well, do not feel bad about this defeat, then! It is only no wonder that wannabe supervillains would fail in combat against the real deal~" With a dramatic wave of both of her hands, Distance opened two rends in the very fabric of space itself, and with a second and sharper wave, pushed two people through these spatial abysses. Instead of in a rapidly closing set of wires, Immanuel suddenly found himself in much more open air (timed to before he had had the chance to fire off his swords), Distance pirouetting in the air into a dodge if any errant blades came her way. Goose, on the other hand, suddenly found herself right in the middle of her comrade's own attack, turned so that her blades were suddenly aimed in the direction of said comrade.

Distance uses Spatial Swap on Goose and Immanuel, trying to catch Goose in the attack aimed for Immanuel (aiming her reeling movement at the one making said attack to be a troll).

Faith

Ha-hh-hh-hh shit, Faith thought, suddenly realizing that she'd only avoided fucking up so bad she'd be knocked out of the fight, and had only done so by metaphorical inches. Well, there was only enough time to be shaken briefly, she decided, so she let out a decisive breath and looked back up at her situation. She steeled herself. She had the shield, so she could probably tank the immediate part of whatever hits might come her way. But if these assholes had energy manipulation powers like she did, she had to drop some level of finesse and trickery out the window and just output raw overwhelming force close up. But that was something that Faith could in all fact do. And that’s why she found herself directly hurtling herself very fast at a frankly kind of scary armored evil guy, fast enough that second doubts could only manifest themselves when it was already pretty much too late holy SHIT the jetpack at full blast plus Leap of Apollo was fast oh my GOD—

Faith yeets herself at Galavant with Leap of Apollo to force a close-ranged battle.

Faith
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Awakening]

So Distance, Goose just bears down on you like an angry storm of blades thrusters and tethers. Their trajectory is chaotic, unpredictable. And they're fast. Really really fast. You actually can't hit them with the swap, not directly anyways. You basically wind up having to twist the space around yourself to funnel them into your swap point and even then the persistent little bastard struggles the whole way spraying your surroundings with musket fire as they go.

Immanuel swaps in, Goose swaps out, net closes on Goose and... Absolutely nothing happens. It just wraps around them and then starts melding into them as they fire out tethers and start charging at the two of your again conjuring another array of muskets as... hmmm. Something's up. The space-time around them feels strange, as if their presence is seeping into it in a fairly wide radius. They've activated countermeasures of some kind.

AWACS ReaperEye <<Spatial manipulation detected. Source suspected to be Eagle 2.>>
AWACS ReaperEye <<Coordinate and overwhelm their defenses with sustained fire.>>

Meanwhile... Faith, you see Galavant weaving through Cynthia's tracer fire with frankly frustrating agility and just fucking yeet yourself at him intent on firing a little something he'll be having a whole lot more trouble dodging.

Magus 3 Galavant <<Oh you're that eager for a fight? I accept your challenge! This is Magnus 3, initiating Harbinger Mode!>>
Magus 4 Freon <<That fool... Rye I need aim assist.>>

Galavant spins around, his cloak splaying open acting like a set of improvised airbrakes, the deceleration so violent that they snap under the strain scattering through the air. From your perspective it's as if he suddenly changed directions launching towards you. Thruster housings slam shut as icey energy pours out from his armor shrouding his form in mist. A chill runs through the air.

It's cold. Oh so cold.

Your shield begins to tremble as if seized by some unseen force as tendrils of frost begin spreading across its surface. Whatever he's doing, it must be amplifying his energy control. And now he has enough to your control. Enough to try and tear your shield asunder.

Of course, that's not his only play. Ribbons erupt out of his back curving around a full 180 degrees and racing to meet you and Cynthia as a salvo of eight missiles. He's also conjured a shield and lance, readying to meet you in a single cataclysmic clash.

Output's increased too. Not enough though. If it comes down to it you think you've got him beat in raw overwhelming firepower.

Elsewhere

An explosion consumes the Sky Warden arcane energies rending ice and shattering armor. Yet it was not the target that was destroyed rather it was the already damaged Warden next to it, shattered by a blow far too powerful for its damage state. Indeed the target, the pristine Warden, it was barely touched. Or rather it was only touched where it was allowed. The blast not so much damaging so much as sculpting it, energies channeled, refocused to strip away the fat, the excess armor. They say some sculptors do not carve a rock to their design, rather they simply see the figure entombed the rock and free it. That is what happens here. The abstract crystalline construct. It was not created from the blast, rather it was freed, freed from its slab like state. A beam lances out, racing to strike the core of its fallen partner. It was the reforged Warden's turn to take the hit now, its refined EMS curving the beam away into one of its arrayed shield plates. Steam erupts from the plate, a little too slow to be called an explosion, but violent enough in its own right launching the Warden out the way of the next volley. Adventurers duck for cover as it fires one of its shields their way, scrambling for the safety of the buildings. The buildings were safe no longer. The wrath of the russian winter howls through its autocannons, shards of ice striking the shield of and ricocheting off, striking the fleeing Adventurers from behind and sending them plummeting into the sea below.

Its partner would return soon enough, reforged and repaired. The adventurers would be washed up downstream where they would be thawed by handheld dryers. Eventually.

In the wake of these sudden upgrades, hit and run tactics begin losing their effectiveness. Soon enough the remaining friendly forces find themselves scattered to the wind, chased away in all directions.

The Allied Forces Have Been Routed

Sheriff falls back towards the approaching line of Sky Wardens, or at least the four that Cynthia didn't just murder with missiles and bees. The four wardens fall into formation behind him. With a flare of his thrusters he launches himself forwards in a charge towards Distance, a rifle in one hand, a lasso in the other. The four Wardens ready to deploy their shields, aiming to create a killzone of ricocheting ice shards around the Distance and Immanuel. Cynthia's other UAV is chasing behind him trying to strafe him down with autocannon fire.

Elsewhere

The Warden did not sense what had struck it, only that something had struck it. Something fast, something heavy, something explosive. Their EMS kicks online drawing as much of the blast away from critical components, focusing it where its armor was thicker, and in particular on its external shielding, launching it backwards as it readied its cannons. From the smoke there is a glint of gold. A lasso wrapping around its frame. A figure reels in behind it. Before it can even fire the spear had pierced its core. A swift kick to the side of the spear's shaft pries the core open, shattering it to pieces.

A new voice enters the comms.

"<No no, I should probably go...>"
"<Wait! Erena, I'd like to go on a date with you if you're still willing.>"
"<Really Drake? You mean it?>"
"<Of course. But I need to catch this kidnapper first.>"
"<That does sound pretty urgent.>"

You clear your throat.

"<We tried that already.>"

Wait really?

"<It fades too quickly. Watch.>"

Drake produces a bottle of one of those health drink not unlike one of those you can find in your local convenience store and unscrews the cap, holding his hand over it until it begins to glow faintly. Pouring some of it into the cap he splashes Estefanía with it, a faint aura of light wreathing her armor.

He then pulls out something from pocket, it, it looks like a children's trading card depicting the same dragon as the one on that mural. Is that supposed to be this religion's equivalent of a crucifix? He holds it towards Estefanía. For a second nothing happens, but then suddenly she begins to catch fire. He quickly pockets the card and Ren sprays her down with a water spell spell.

"<See? Not enough power. She'll be on fire before she even finishes walking down the aisle.>"
"<Could you do that again?>"
"<Hmm?>"
"<I can amplify it.>"
"<Okay then.>"

He holds out his hand over the drink again and Ren takes hold of his wrist.

"<Is this grove important?>"
"<No. I think they were saying they saying they were going to clear it to build some shops.>"
"<In that case...>"

It is the smell that you notice first. The scent of flowers and nature hanging in the air, however much they seem to smell more of playing cards and casinos. it's all gone. The breeze too is gone, if but for a moment. The air hangs still save for your breaths. It's empty, sterile, devoid of life. The feel is not unlike that of a hospital, sans the cold aircon and stench of disinfectant. The next thing you notice are the trees, the grass, the flowers. They've all withered away. A very confused bird tweets in surprise as the branch it was sitting on collapses to ash beneath its claws and it very hurriedly flies the fuck away. Every plant in the entire grove is dead. Beyond dead. Withered to ash. Every shred of life torn out.

If you had to guess where it wound up, it would be the bottle that now glows much brighter than before.

"You can always power up a spell if you pay a price" She explains more to you than anyone else. Though strangely enough she doesn't seem to be looking at you so much as simply casting her eyes over where you're standing. "The trick is getting something else to pay it for you." She smiles, you suppose it was meant to be wry, or maybe reassuring but honestly it just comes off as kinda awkward. Like a man just caught by his wife jacking off into her grandpa's open coffin.

"<That's rad>"
The priest kinda just seems to stare off into space for like five seconds or so before pouring another cap and splashing it on Estefanía. It takes considerably longer for the flames to start appearing.

"<You'll have ten minutes.>"

Okay ten minutes. That's some time at least. Not a lot though. Guess that means you guys will have to speedrun the ceremony short of finding more patches of land for Ren to lifedrain anyways.

Honestly, given her current magically-induced state as a robot Yuki thought it was mildly unfair she could still be effected by pepper spray. But then maybe she just looked like one and it was just an illusion? She had no clue and frankly didn't actually care - she just cast magic on herself to heal up, as usual. It was very convenient like that. One problem resolved. Next problem, sword dude pretending to be a shark coming to munch on her which she frankly did not appreciate. So she decided to deal with shark-man like she saw in this one really cool show - she ran towards him recklessly and, when he attacked, she let her chainsaw drop and grabbed the sword. "It's no fun if you just hide in there! Come out!" she shouted, and pulled, trying to drag him out of the portal and then tear into him. As for black arrows, she had two circling ready to help her take on the swordsman and sent the remainder after the assailant.

Shef and Yuki
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)

[Now Playing: Necrofantasia]

Yuki takes the attack head on, standing her ground she as floods her body with healing magic. The blade slashes into her hands, the natural cutting power of the messer boosted by spirit energy and sheer velocity less a sword at this point and more a flying guillotine.

The impact is explosive. There's a flash of light. The ground shatters. The shockwave resounds.

The blade rips through Yuki's shields and cuts into her hand. Yet the girl does not bleed. Did she still bleed? She could not tell but her pass hadn't gone off just yet. So she was still in the fight then.

She was still in the fight. Her hands were still around the blade. And she hadn't budged with a single inch.

With a roar of defiance (that's what people in this situation should do right?) she wrenches, tearing the Swordsman out of his portal hurling him upon the ground as her twin arrows leap up to receive their prey.

One hand loosens from the sword's grip, flicking a combat knife up from his sleeves. In a single motion he drives it down into his chestplate.

The metal ripples, rings of light tracing outwards, their wake exposing a tessellation of hexagonal cells across the boy's outfit. A protective enchantment. Explosive reactive armor. Single-use. Didn't fire off the first time Yuki hit him. He wasn't going to assume it would this time either. He was going to set it off himself.

An explosion consumes the pair, the Swordsman pouring every last bit of power into the blast. He needed to take out the arrows. Preferably blow her away too. Turning the tables, he could think about that after.

Two arrows discharge. A pass goes off. And Yuki remains where she was, pretty badly hurt again but standing defiant. The Swordsman yeah, guy's out.

Ten cards burn away. The labyrinth rises. Rises as it falls. Falls inwards. Inwards upon Shef.

Lana charges forward through the maze. She couldn't see. Couldn't take that risk. Wasn't entirely convinced it was enough. Fighting blindfolded, it wasn't impossible at least. Sometimes you've gotta flashbang even if you're caught in the blast. Course typically she had Levi helping her out. No such luck here. Eleutheria would have to do, she didn't have the best angle, but she had an angle at least.

With Izzy gone the odds of them winning had fallen dramatically. Her fault of course, had she not pinged the instructor he might've been forced to show his hand earlier. Back when things didn't really count. Still, if it's her mess it just meant she had to clean it up. And if she had a little bit more fun during it, well that's just a nice bonus isn't it?

Nice sentiment, but there was an expulser in the chamber pointed at her and try as she might Eleutheria was not going to evade Shef in person or by proxy. Her own bullets were closing in sure, but he'd fire before he'd be hit, and fire he does, bullet racing out to meet its quarry.

With Izzy out of the picture, Eleutheria could only discharge so much power over any given period. It could be in single big hits. It could be in several smaller partial discharges. Against someone like these instructors a big hit would be better. It would at least stagger them if only for an instant.

But what about something smaller? Something lighter? Something such as say, a bullet?

The expuler touches the maze wall. A connection. A discharge. A small discharge. Not full power. But enough, enough to ping it away.

Lana takes a step back, brushing the maze again. Another discharge. Larger this time. Again not full power. But this one hurts more, and more importantly, it gives her a good shove forwards. Another two gunshots ring out. One at the center of mass another at the imminent threat, the charging pistol. The sliver of energy left is dumped into the first shot, deflecting it. Second shot heads Lana in the arm, knocking the weapon out of her arm. Shef's already portaling the hell out.

She's hurt. Badly hurt. But she's not stopping, she spins along with the impact, taking it in her stride as she lunges forward. Shef finds himself getting yanked, yanked towards her, a crystalline cuff around his wrist, its twin around Lana's other wrist. Handcuffs. Magical handcuffs, yanking him towards her right. His exoarm begins to flicker. His RAM too. It must have Regalia disrupting properties.

They're right up against each other now. Yuki's black tide is rushing in, racing to crush Lana where she stands. But Eleutheria has one last trick up her sleeves. She draws four more cards and there. A wry smile. Just what she needed.

She produces a combat knife and moves to draw it across her hand.

All the vitality keeping her in this fight.

The entire sum of the bullet hell raging around Shef.

Four more cards.

And Lana's right to continue fighting too.

She's offering it all up in one last gamble. A proper gamble this time.

A magic circle begins tracing behind Lana. A high yield explosion spell. A last ditch attempt to take him out with them.

Noriko considered the damage Ren had just done to the environment. She recalled the first time she'd encountered the other woman, and elected not to ask about it right now. There was almost certainly a connection there, especially with how she had reacted. For now, though, there were issues to deal with.

They were going all in on this one, eh? It would be a shame if he were to do something about that. First, the enchantment on his portals, the ratcheting constriction that served usually to trap foe. Next, a step forward in towards his foe, keeping up the tension on the chain. Shef then made the small mental flick, and opened a long series of portals behind him, entrances within millimeters of exits. He took a small step through, and then yanked on the handcuffs, pulling them into the center of the portals.

And finally, the portals were constricted, down to a hole the size of a coin through which the chain of the handcuffs passed. And now to wait for detonation. In the meantime he'd work on getting his gun to fire, and maybe take a few potshots at the magician.

Tighten the Noose[5] and Room to Breathe[4] using Resolve to double cast. Take potshots at the magician and wait for detonation.

Wow that kinda hurt a bit - oh hey Shef looks like he's in trouble, should probably take care of that. Yuki split her black arrows between the two remaining opponents, and then tried her most recent trick...

Alter 5. Split black arrows between enemies, then activate UI for the turn.

Noriko
"Oh um yeah!"
She seems to visibly relax. Okay sidestepped that landmine at least.
"I can do that! Just point me at- Wait you don't mean those seagulls do you?"
Yeah, you did.
"Oh uh... yeah! I'd love to do that, but um, y'know I wouldn't wanna spoil the wedding or anything by just murdering a flock of innocent birds and all!"
"<...I can accept that.>"
"<Honestly, given how our adventures often go, I daresay it would be thematic even.>"
"Oh... wonderful. Sounds er, swell!"
"<We could try random encounters first, they sound like they'd be worth more energy.>"

Shef and Yuki

[Now Playing: Necrofantasia]

So Shef just sees what's going down from a mile away and prepares to nope on right out. Were it only so easy. The Assailant wouldn't be letting him go that easily. She tears the blindfold off, taking care to keep her eyes shut tight as she slaps it around her wrist. Spirit energy pumping back into it, the shred of he Regalia begin to gather once more the scrap quickly forming a sleeve and sprouting thruster-like protrusions, jets of fluid flaring across its surface to drag Shef back.

Were it anyone else, this would've really been checkmate. But Shef's got another trick up his sleeve - he knows how Regalia works. He ain't Foundry but he has his contacts, his knowhow. In the past he designed weapons. Sold them too. Like hell he would be blind to how his own gun worked, his own exoskeleton. So the bitch was disrupting it eh? Fien. He could work with that. Just needed to turn it back on for an instant. Hell he could overload it. Easier that way. A little more bang for his buck. It'd knock it offline for a bit, but the way the fight was going he wouldn't be needing it anyways. Those newfangled eyes of his? The ability to see just how the interference worked? That was just the icing on the cake.

Flickering, screeching, flaring the exoarm overloads. Kinetic manipulators spin into overdrive, a truly monstrous amount of strength surging through the limb. Physics twists and bends, the same enchantments that allowed the limb to lift rubble without his legs feeling their weight being brought to bear, ensuring that he was dragging her towards him footing and reaction forces be damned. He lurches through the portals, apertures slamming shut like ripples played in reverse.

The chain is caught.

Shef has escaped.

Thrusters emerge from their housings, their light faint their output looking more like heat haze than anything else. The air around Yuki twists rippling and scintillating. Her mind goes blank.

LET EVERYTHING THAT'S BEEN PLANNED COME TRUE. LET THEM BELIEVE. AND LET THEM HAVE A LAUGH AT THEIR PASSIONS. BECAUSE WHAT THEY CALL PASSION ACTUALLY IS NOT SOME EMOTIONAL ENERGY, BUT JUST THE FRICTION BETWEEN THEIR SOULS AND THE OUTSIDE WORLD. AND MOST IMPORTANT, LET THEM BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES. LET THEM BE HELPLESS LIKE CHILDREN, BECAUSE WEAKNESS IS A GREAT THING, AND STRENGTH IS NOTHING.

The Black Arrows vanish.

Wounds rip open. The combat passes go off.

The blast too, but it's weakened, robbed of the vitality it was pledged.

The handcuffs shatter and Shef rides the blast wave back tumbling to a halt.

Hmm.

Black lace.

Skirt looks familiar. Though he had to admit, he's never seen them from the inside. Given that he hasn't been kicked off and no one's screaming it's probably Hanako's.

Okay yeah, something's gotta be fucking with you.

While he really ought not to have been surprised by this, it took Shef a few seconds to process the situation. A skirt, undergarments—oh no—no screams yet though and the material of the skirt seemed to match with what he remembered Hanako to be wearing. Okay so at least he—probably—wouldn't be getting sued for this. Still, better to get up before anyone with real authority tried to arrest him for sexual assault. Twice in one day. He might have to make sure not to overload his new aura whenever Hanako was around at this point. Might still feel something but at least he'd be able to reactively portal to hopefully not collide with her.

Shef began to extract himself, making certain to only place his hands on the ground to push himself up, etc. Did not need to make this any worse.

"Did not mean for that to happen. Obviously. Sorry." Shef looked away hurriedly. "I should. . . probably wrap things up with the students."

"Sure. We can catch up later if you'd like. Should probably take this right now." Shef said, looking distractedly at his phone.
