Abruptly, Noriko's spear floats into the air and flies straight toward Minato's head, blunt end first.

<"MINATO SHUT UP-- wait what?"> Faith goes from outrage to bafflement in about a second flat at Yuki's response.

Faith continues her embarrassed English banter. "<You're deepening!>" she shoots back, before again pausing in bafflement, this time at her own remark. ...and then at Yuki's.

"I-- what-- no, I didn't... mean it literally...?"

Yuki makes an 'oooooh' face. "Ahhh. Sorry, not so great at understanding tone in English."

"Minato, do you ever have anything to say outside of flirting and teasing? And, shouldn't we be getting downstairs?" Shef then shook his head, and wandered out of the room, heading downstairs. If they followed him, that would be fine. If not, he'd have at least a moment free from their suffocating flirtations.

Your transport arrives in short order, the driver at the front, some spare clothes in the back. The trip that follows is disorientating, though uneventful, a wild rush through side streets and back alleys and backstreets you never knew, haven't seen, and won't remember, a blur of motion leading you to your destination in record time.

Said destination being the station the train is now arriving at. Not that you see it for long. No, you know what you are looking for, and so you find it, an unmistakable feeling in the air, the presence of a Sanctuary, only unlike your warehouse, this feels awfully foreboding, soul-eating monsters aren't particularly known for their tact and interior design skills after all.

The station while not crowded, was still bustling, salarymen and tourists meandering beneath florescent lights, the hum of the maglev beneath countless voices, vibrations rumbling along the ground and through the dusty air. But you are not at the station, not anymore.

You are in an octagonal plaza illuminated by a cloudless night sky, the brickwork forming concentric circles all around the centerpiece. It was a shrine. It was every shrine, and it was no shrine. A shrine to no faith you recognise, but every faith there was, a strangely functional amalgamation of the all faiths, both modern and forgotten, converted to a gallows. The statues are alabaster, the henges are white marble, and the shimenawa are nooses.

In each of the eight directions, rows of great myōjin toriis stretch out into the forest beyond, the night breeze flowing in from each, bringing with it an unnatural chill and earthly scents of soil.

Standing before you, between you and the gallows, is the Aramitama. In the first three battles, you have seen it dash, dash so quickly it seemingly teleports, you have seen it step, make short quick steps as to evade, but you have not seen it run, and now it runs, straight towards you, leaning forwards, arms trailing back, its form obscured by the billowing cloak of shadows. You have mere seconds before it is in your midst.

"You don't seem to remember what happened last time we met! Maybe you need a reminder!" Noriko lifted her spear over her head, preparing to jab it forward into the Aramitama. "Vasavi Shakti!" She'd use the Aramitama's momentum against it if at all possible, but she held back ever so slightly to get ready for its inevitable attempt to dodge.

As Shef had made a point of staying towards the back of the group, in order to be in a better position for the inevitable fight, he raised his left arm and aimed. He fired a few shots, on the left and right sides of Noriko. Dodging her attack would mean getting shot, right?

Shef shoots on ether side of Noriko so that any of the Aramitama's attempts to dodge left or right will be countered.

Yuki had discarded the barely present remains of her uniform -she'd check for a spare or buy a new one later - and was now wearing some actual clothes (although any bystanders might have gotten an eyefull when she was going to the car). "Ahah! Our nemesis, we have found-" she is interrupted as Noriko and Shef spring into action. Yuki pouts. "Guys, I wasn't done with my heroic pre-fight banter!" she complains, as she revels up the chainsaw and follows after Noriko. She's in place and ready if the thing manages to avoid Noriko and Shef, or to follow up if one hits.

Minato positions himself carefully, keeping himself between the Aramitama and Faith. He felt drained by this point, but, well, he couldn't let everyone have the fun.

He manages one petal of Rho Aias, of course.

But he figured he'd split the difference.
Summon Rho Aias and seven other random shields. With the exception of Rho Aias, plant each shield down into the ground as hard as possible. If the Aramitama draws near any of them, whether while Minato is planting them or after, detonate them.

Well, Faith didn't exactly see room for destructive attacks like hers in this initial wave of attacks, but when the thing was reeling (IF it reeled...), then a blast from her might well prove to be useful.

Yoake was hyped up. She'd gotten tired of chasing around this one damn thing, and she wanted it to just stop running!

She steps onto one of Minato's shields, and uses it as a springboard to leap high into the air, before directing her butt back to the ground, where the Aramitama would hopefully be hit by Noriko's attack.

Rho Aias blooms, with more to come. Faith and Noriko take aim, Yuki stands in position. Yoake launches into the air, and two shots ring out. The Aramitama does not react, continuing its reckless charge as-

Light.

You see light.

It is a cold light, a dead light. It is not a bright light. It is not an unearthly light. It is not the radiance of heaven. It is not the smouldering of hell. It is the unfeeling, uncaring light of red LEDs rigged to several dozen pounds of plastic explosives. You have a split second to react before it goes off. Before the entire area is saturated with shrapnel. It is too late to stop the detonation, too late to destroy the explosives, but there is still time to protect yourself.

The Aramitama, is nowhere in sight.

((You may now alter your action. Shef has already fired. Yoake has already leaped. Noriko has already enlarged her spear. Minato has already summoned Rho Aias. You cannot change what has already happened, but you can alter what you have yet to execute. Your rolls have not been consumed yet, they will with the coming turn.))
